PHDDon
I think he will prove a good choice. Understand why people may have preferred an outfield player, but there have been good examples of keepers as captains. There's a school of thought which says keepers are a good bet for captaincy, as they get to survey the game more than outfield players and are less physically tired / more alert as the game progresses.Aye there's been loads of great keepers as captain for club or country, Kahn, Casillas, Buffon, Lloris, Zoff, Neuer. Ferguson is very vocal and will develop into a leader on the park to have word when needed and hoping Bryson will be the same Link to comment
Don Fonte
The captain is far more vital off the park than on it in my eyes anyway. As long as you've leaders on the park the captain matters a lot less during a game than it used to. Link to comment

Now thinking about that, will we be a pushover for refs now as Lewis is definitely a nice guy and can’t see him giving a ref pelters in a game? Link to comment

eeps
Joe was getting carried away with his new found responsibilities on Thursday night. Constantly running out to the halfway line to bark instructions. He's got no place interfering with attacking free kicks. Link to comment
Chewie37
Who was our most booked player? That doesn’t change my point in the slightest. If it was Shinnie, which I’m sure you’re hinting at, I said that he got away with more than he would’ve if he wasn’t captain, which he did Link to comment

The Buzzard
When you're looking for a responsible thoughtful and understanding ear - you won't get better than Joseph. A terrific source of life advice for all the talented naive young uns in the team. It's all fine and well doing cruyff turns or whatever pish; but doesn't mean you're automatically good at shagging or going out with lassies or socialising in boozers etc. A wee chat with Joseph - discipline and routine sets in. Soccer now, coitus later. Was there not a good photo posted last season of JL in a boozer after a game or when he was out injured? Seemed to be holding his own then. Link to comment

Fridge
Have to disagree, if the captain is right in the refs ear he can influence. Shocker of a challenge from a young loun and you can immediately say give him a break ref it’s the first five minutes. Might change a red to a yellow. Can’t do that from the other side of the pitch. 1 Link to comment
