YorkDon
Headed into York this morning for a few bits, to the generic out of town shopping park. Have parked up and charged the car for free whilst getting the messages, easy as fuck.No extra waiting for it to charge. Link to comment

A couple years down the line there’ll be too many cars, so it will no longer be free. Link to comment

I’ve no doubt you’re correct, and it’ll be heavily incentivised at the moment, to encourage the switch to electric. It’ll be more than a couple of years tho I reckon, and the good thing for me, is that I get to take full advantage of it until the time comes that it isn’t. Link to comment

The robot cars will be electric to start off too Just can't see it Brian. Human nature dictates that people want to own things. Cars being top of the list albeit quite a lot are already "rented" through lease agreements. Keeping up with the Jones's will mean that car ownership will always be a thing for a long long time. It's a nice theory but won't take off if you ask me. Need a car then you hit up an app and it comes to you? Will be a fad at best. People are materialistic and want to own and show off. God that felt fucking awful being sensible. Prick. There that's better. Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
All fair points, but money talks. Get a platinum membership and a Lexus or whatever picks you up. For the average pleb the Ford or Toyota showing up will save turns of cash on fuel, servicing and insurance. Link to comment

Where are all these hire cars going to be stored Brian? Given the demand for cars will be the same (everybody needing one) and driveways and garages now out of use as they've all been converted into extra rooms and garden space I doubt they'll all just be parked on the street like they were owned cars. Seems a touch far fetched to think every town and city will have this massive car depot on the outskirts waiting for the call to deploy. Link to comment

YorkDon
What about the folks that don’t live in towns and cities Bri? I live in a village.I doubt there will be permission granted for an ugly multi-storey car park to blot the landscape and my lovely view. It wouldn’t be efficient, or environmentally friendly to travel 20 miles out to me. Link to comment

That said there will be the option to host cars in your pre-existing driveway. Cash off your subscription. Link to comment
