Snake oil selling charlatan. of all his signings so far, only Gurr has a very outside chance of being the type he promised we were looking at signing. All rest are the type of signings made by Gretna ffs. Aged high wage earning fantasy football type shite with no long term plan. Fuck me, I think you’d rather we lost, just so you could say “I told you so”. FFS we won 5-1 - enjoy it. 4 Link to comment

stevew8863
Great team effort tonight from a fresh looking side with a better approach than I have seen for years. Players looking happy knowing which direction it takes to score a goal instead of passing all the way back to our ‘playmaker’ Lewis to punt the ball. All very encouraging. And YES this team needed shored up quickly with old heads as last season I never want to see again. The signings all looked good and improved the side but maybe need another striker yet. CR9 looks like he knows how to play as a 9 with good hold up play and got in the 6 yd box to get his goal. All very encouraging so get behind your team stop talking shite and hopefully see an improved team this year. Link to comment
ThomohawkKid
Here, Ojo was very good. It’s happening. The second coming of funso ? Ojo. Big ✈️ as well btw. First class. Jeez even McLennan stepped up wae a beautiful goal after being a write off by many. Very positive night, but yeah a CB n Striker yet for me and hopefully maintain those standards!! Link to comment
stevew8863
Yes a lot of positive energy from Ojo tonight he looked tidy, hope that was not a knock he went off with. 1 Link to comment
Tord31
If Glass wants to play with two strikers then he'll be struggling to pretend we dont need one or even two more 2 Link to comment

BonnieDon
St Mirren have rejected Wigan's bid of 300k for Jamie McGrath. Cormack commenting at halftime that we are still looking to sign a player or two. Ferguson will have drawn further attention after yesterdays performance. If Ferguson is sold for say 3-4 million is it unrealistic of us to reinvest some of that to sign McGrath and/or Jason Kerr? Link to comment
ThomohawkKid
No, you’d hope at least half Ferguson’s fee can be reinvested. Add an extra mill on every game he plays like last night. Link to comment

I think having watched last night that really the third striker needs to be of a higher quality than I was previously expecting/accepting. It's not a squad player we need a decent third striker in this squad as the dynamic will completely change if JET or Ramirez are missing for a month. Link to comment
King Street Loon
Just read the last few pages of this thread. What a load of bed wetting going on from a few posters. It's the 23rd July, window closes 31st August. Plenty time still to do business. 3 Link to comment

Clearly very skillfull but wants to play the game at walking pace, and moreso outside the box. Making the signing of another striker even more imperative Link to comment

Making the signing of another striker even more imperative I’d he could run, he’d be at a higher level than the Dons. Has everything else, strength, passing, skill, just not very mobile & will struggle to last 90 minutes. He was excellent for 65-70 last night then faded. 1 Link to comment

Yes he's definitely going to pick up a lot of minutes deeper and even midfield. Even if it was not our intention it'll happen naturally because that is what his game is about. A third striker will pick up loads of minutes so it's an important part of the squad. After seeing McCrorie last night I think he is going to wing it and go with Gallagher, Consi, Devlin and McCrorie for CB options until 1st January. About two less than we've been used to McInnes going with. So it's only a winger and a striker we are looking for... Link to comment

starryfish
Cormack did say at half time on Red Tv last night that they are still working on deals to be done by the end of August. The emphasis, he said, would be on quality. 1 Link to comment
Dave Bus
Seen that st mirrens asking price for McGrath is 500k. Surely just get that deal done. Another striker(backup) and centre back (to allow McCrorie to play where ojo did last night) would complete the squad as well. 1 Link to comment
Dave Bus
Punt Kennedy and Ruth , both not good enough. Also send Dean Campbell for a loan spell with Dundee or something, needs to play every week. Link to comment

We should be getting it done before season gets going properly as he may start season well & create more interest from teams we cannot compete with financially. Maybe try & offload Kennedy to St Mirren as part of the deal. Provided they don’t push the fee up too much more if we throw in Kennedy Link to comment
The Gee Man
Not going for McGrath now is why we toil getting real money into the club! I know we don’t have the finances to do this type of deal too often but, 1 every 2 season should be the goal, pick up at 500k develop the player and sell for £3+ million and repeat. Real scouting is needed to get us back up challenging for every honour going Link to comment
