He isn’t saying we’re targeting him.

He’s suggesting him.

Bear in mind he’s Head of Recruitment at an EPL club we can almost certainly rule that out.

Is he Head of Recruitment or Assistant Head of Recruitment at Brighton?

Nonetheless, seems he moved there from Swansea with Potter and Reid

That we are advertising the role shows we've nobody in mind. Not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

Thats nae necessarily true. Plenty times roles are filled before they are even advertised, they are maybe just following the HR Process.

Aberdeen being Aberdeen you are probably correct though. The biggest summer of transfer activity in decades and we will have a head of recruitment in place after the transfer window closes....

if it was filled and we were just following due process why would we pay SRI Executive a large fee to find someone for the role?

I don't know mate, I'm just saying what I know from first hand experience. Roles are often filled yet companies still advertise the post and even still conduct interviews just to be seen to be following HR process.

Using a headhunter (as per oil and gas industry and I'm assuming loads of other areas) means we have a way to make unsolicited approaches to folk who are in work at other clubs.

Maybe interviewing folk already (hope we are) and also just seeing who throws their hat into the ring.

Really hope we get it sorted ASAP as this window is crucial for us

Bit underwhelming. But must have done a decent job with them getting promoted.

Had hoped for a foreign chap that we could tap into his contacts. Blackpool probably targeting a lot of similar players we already do.

Is that the same Tommy Johnson that played for Celtic?

Did he play for Watford the same time as Glass did?

Yes, that's him that was at Celtic.

Don't think he ever played for Watford though.

Most of his recruitment comes from loans and free transfers from EPL youth and reserve teams. No real history of recruiting from abroad other than Sullay Kaikai coming back to England from Holland. But that might be because recruit from abroad wasn't part of the remit.

Like everyone in this type of role there have been successes and there have been some failures. Most of the successes have been loan signings

Wouldn't complain if he joins and could manage to get Dan Ballard and Ellis Simms up here this summer. And Kaikai wouldn't be a bad option for the right winger role either.

Aye, he might be a decent choice.

Tapping into English clubs at the top level to pick up young players who don't quite make it there wouldn't be a bad policy for us to have.

Good shout min. Add Jerry Yates, who had a fantastic season for the Seasiders last season, along with Kenny Dougall (fantastic in the play-off final) to the list of potential options and if any of them did sign it certainly would be an improvement on who we currently have.
