The statement seems a bit at odds with what Warnock said, if they’ve not even had interviews or asked permission to speak to people then it’s hardly “at an advanced stage” is it? They’ve had months to do all this and we are barely past the first stage. The ones interviewed could knock us back due to personal terms or we could be refused permission to speak to other targets so that makes the statement about making an appointment during the international break a bit ridiculous.

God forbid we hire someone during the break purely to save face because none of the targets want to join. Also would it not make more sense to keep Warnock in place for Dundee and Motherwell instead of yet more disruption?

Cormack's statement on Saturday also mentioned "advanced stage" so the club are guilty of sending mixed messages

Totally agree.  Cormack should rightly receive criticism for guiding us into this position in the first place but at least there is an acknowledgment that things need to change. If the rumours are true that this review is costing 300k then they will surely listen and act upon any recommendations they make.  This company does seem to be very highly regarded.   The Warnock situ is a strange one but chances are it was a mutual agreement for him to go now.  I suppose the hope was that he would come in , go on a bit of a run and maybe get top 6 / Europe.  That’s gone to rat shit so he goes now, we save a bit of cash and Leven gets the next 2 games.

Not necessarily.

The company I work for commisioned one of these reviews a few years back. They gave the company doing the review a set of parameters to work within, together with a set of what were effectively manufactured financial and statistical figures.

The review then came up with the conclusions and answers that management wanted to present to staff.

These reviews are rarely 'independent'. They're often used as a tool to back up failing management.

These reviews are like baking a cake, and somebody else provides you with all the ingredients. You end up making the cake that they want.

This.

aberdeen wanted the review to tell them what other clubs do differently. They didn’t commission it under the guise of changing people within the structure. It’s insane our already bloated structure will need more people to run it.

I also read the review had brought up 2 targets, one being the Helsinki manager, which Cormack dismissed immediately. There’s absolutely no danger the review has brought up Neil Lennon and similar mongos.
