We're now so far down the list Ossie Ardiles' application is being discussed.

To be fair we're only so far down a list of guesses and hopes of loads of fans on social media with added Press speculation on top. Hope springs eternal and we may all be pleasantly surprised by an appointment tomorrow

Is he still alive?

A spring chicken at the age of only 71.

Walked passed him in Glasgow about 6 years ago, I did a proper double take.  He was wearing a beige trenchcoat with the belt done up. #greatstories

I'd be surprised. Lennon is too dominant a personality for Cormack surely?

Yes that's what makes it unlikely. But in our current situation we just need someone who

- has actually managed a football club before

- is forceful enough to tell Cormack to stop interfering

- is desperate enough for a job to not be put off by having to work for idiotse.

Neil Lennon comes in, hopefully steadies the ship and stops us getting relegated, then has a massive bust up with Cormack and leaves of his own accord BEFORE he alienates all the players, meaning we don't have to pay any compensation for another sacking, and we can pick this thread back up in a few months.

Leaving Leven in the position until summer isn’t an option unless we aren’t seriously wanting to be competitive for top 4 next season.

The board wanted someone in so that the summer rebuild could be planned ahead of the season ending and the new gaffer could assess what he thinks we would need.

It’s not good

It seems like we’re so far down the list that leaving him as interim is the best of a bad list of options. Far from ideal not getting someone in now to assess the squad & plan for next season, but it’s better than panicking & offering the job to someone like Neil Lennon & end up back here again in 12 months.

If we were interviewing yesterday I’m not sure we’ll hear anything either way until Thursday at best. Probably when we’ve been rejected again.

So will we get a statement today giving some clarity of the managerial situation or will we get rubber eared and just get  Peter Leven talking about the game on Saturday

I doubt we will hear anything but Leven press conference would be Thursday or Friday. You’d imagine at some point the board will address the situation they’ve manufactured.

If it’s true we interviewed yesterday then the outcome would be swift as you’d imagine those interviewed all want the job. Who knows if it’s true though.

Just putting it out there and make of it what you want.

Duncan Ferguson

I’m certain he’d have been a better option than Barry Robson - based on Dunc’s comments experience as an assistant to some top managers.

But right now we probably need someone with more experience as manager to sort out the mess.

Possibly but not necessarily, they might think they want it until they have a chat with Cormack and realise what they’d be getting themselves into.

I’m sure Warnock will also tell managers in England what a basket case we are.

No decent manager will put up with an interfering chairman.

Thainstone is run better than AFC.

Cormack bought a heap of really good Ewes before breeding season. However he also got a really good offer for his Tup which he sold.   He made a half hearted effort to get another Tup but decided to wait until the right one came along. But he reckons that doesn't matter because the Ewes are really good.  Now he's confused because his Ewes aren't pregnant.

Not our Dave. He might be wrong but he won’t be confused
