They are far from comedy books but there are some good chuckles along the way.  Pity there aren't cops like Logan in real life.

No.  They are set in a variety of locations in the Highlands and Isles.

You're maybe thinkin' of the Stuart MacBride novels.  He has a character called Logan in his too and they are Aberdeen based.
