We need to hire someone who has proven themselves as a football manager. Someone with a track record of building teams to get promotions and win silverware.

Not one of Cormack's mates, not someone who's doing mediocre at another SPFL club, and not someone who has zero experience managing a professional football team.

Also not a woman, because I wouldn't fucking put it past them at this point.

Who can we afford that will come to the club that has a track record of winning silverware? Or will you just shite out of it and say it’s not your decision or some other nonsense.

We are a complete and utter basket case of a club.

This has been the case ever since Willie Miller was sacked in February 1995.

A few ups, but far, far more downs along the way since then plus several false periods of hope, only to be left deflated time and time again by the team and our club

It's no surprise we have been on such a volatile journey since then as upon the sad passing of Dick Donald on Hogmanay 1993, the results and performances speak volumes of how badly our club has been run thereafter.

Apart from the era when George Yule (a man of great humility, integrity, and with the genuine best interests of our club and supporters at heart) was on-board when the performances and results were very good (some were excellent), either side of his tenure we've been incredibly unstable, weak, and, quite frankly, woeful.

That's what happens when you don't have proper football people on the board but instead have egotistical mice who couldn't care less about our club, or, if they do, they don't know how to fucking run it, regardless of how successful they've been in other business ventures.

Would agree with most of what you say. I would suggest the problems started when Alex Smith was sacked- 7 months after losing the league title at Ibrox on the final game of the season.

Alex Smith did a very good job, along with Jocky Scott as his right hand man, as our manager.

Unfortunately, although we won 2 trophies during his reign and finished second on each of his 3 full seasons in charge, he will never be forgiven for how we were set up to play on 11 May 1991.

The following season we were still suffering from the effects of that truly gutting result, and a 1-0 home defeat to Hibs (Mickey Weir winner?) sealed his fate in February 1992.

Yes first Aberdeen manager sacked. Was his sacking too quick? Scott leaving to do to Dunfermline ? Didnt help

If the final game of the season had been anywhere other than Ibrox (a coincidence? The SFA doesn't do them) we would have been champions, of that I've no doubt. Where we'd be today as a club is anyone's guess.

Yes, Jocky Scott leaving was the catalyst for Smith's downfall. They were a great pairing, but with all due respect to Smith, his career after us suggests he wasn't so great on his own.

Jocky Scott leaving for DAFC never helped Smith's cause at all and due to the fact the club had been stable in terms of results and performances prior to season 91-92, being knocked out in the opening rounds of the UEFA Cup (to BK1903), League Cup (to Airdrie), and Scottish Cup (to the dead scum) that season more or less sealed his fate.

Never thought of it being a coincidence beforehand that we were drawn to play RFC on the last game of 90-91.

Mind you, considering we had finished second to them the previous 2 seasons, it could be reasonably foreseen it would've turned out to be a title decider that fateful day after the previous 35 league games had been played.

I have absolutely no doubt that someone else would be getting better results out of this squad... and he can't say he hasn't been backed.

I suspect he'll be here til the new year but I can't help thinking we're delaying the inevitable here... Time for Burrows to update the "Next Potential Manager" files...

Delaying the inevitable is probably the death of the season sadly.

Bite bullet & do it now.

it’s blatantly obvious that there is no long term future in Robson as Aberdeen manager. The improvement he would need to make to be even close to acceptable is way beyond anything he is capable of.

He isn’t even Fkn treading water at moment.

Agreed. A half decent manager should be getting far, far more out of this squad. No excuses.
