RAZOR
Fitness has massively improved and starting to look half decent. Probably would give him a year. 3 Link to comment

RAZOR
Our 'wingers' next year currently - Duncan, Morris, Richardson and Vinny. Not that it should be the benchmark but Toilett is much better than all, probably combined. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
I’d like to think we could source a better player but any time I think that, we absolutely do not achieve that task Link to comment

We aren't signing 4 wingers in 1 window and Hoilett is better than any listed above, as you say. Link to comment

Give him another one year contract and bring in another winger as well Fucking sorted how difficult was that Link to comment

a don in oz
Did I read right that one of Thelin's assistants is a recently-ish retired former Swedish international winger? Wonder if that means he'll have an eye for raw material. ie: if any of our players actually have what it takes in that role, and whether Hoilett is worth trying to keep at his age. Certainly, as others are saying now that he's got match fitness he's looking like a good player and while he's 33 (right?) he's not relying on pace to beat players so maybe he has it for at least another year maybe two. Without having a clue what Thelin will bring to the table, trying to get Hoilett for a one-year deal would seem reasonable. More than that would be a gamble. Whatever happens, he's doing a turn for us now and that's nice to see. Link to comment
Helmet
Would have no problem with him hanging around but I think we’ll need some younger wingers with stamina and work rate to press the opposition- Hoilet might be used by Thelin as a sub later in a game? 1 Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Don’t care who he brings in as long as within 2 games we’ve nicknamed him the Postman. Link to comment
dj_bollocks
Besuijen and Hoilett on the wings wouldn't be the worst options next season. Morris, Duncan and Richardson very much surplus to requirement although I suspect we might keep Duncan as he's the cheap option. Two more wingers in a Hayes, McGinn mould and that wouldn't be awful in terms of squad depth. Link to comment
Sheepo
Definitely worth another year, has so much quality on the ball and should benefit from a full pre season Link to comment

Not even sure the 4th, Vinny, will be either. But he is absolutely the only cunt out of those that may possibly do some sort of job. The rest need to get a job in a call centre, or as a scaffie or suchlike. Link to comment
1903Afc
We can absolutely forget moving forward if we keep the likes of Morris, Richardson etc. even in or around about the squad. Not their fault we chucked a contract at them however, but pay them off, get rid. Hoilett maybe worth a years deal, has something and if we're in for another large turnover of players then at least we know what we are getting 1st hand. Even if he ends up sub, still pretty decent option from the bench. 1 Link to comment
Turra red
I never felt vinny suited the wing particularly well as he doesn't have pace or the ability of somebody like hoillet. If we keep him I think he has to be played off the striker. 1 Link to comment
Turra red
Saying again in his red TV interview he wants to stay with us. Enjoyed watching him today. Hibs wingers all pace and no product. Then you see Hoillet who has so much guile and ability which more than made up for his lack of pace. 2 Link to comment
minijc
It's great having a proper wide player, you can see why he's played at the top and how he's still going, definitely worth a year. 8 Link to comment
Daisy1903
I like the system we have at the moment, but I'd swap McGrath for Duk. Duk much better in the wide area. Clarkson, McGrath, Barron and Shinnie can all rotate for the midfield options Link to comment
Glass half full
It’s a no brainer to try and keep him for next season. Fuck his age, he’s good enough. He’s not even that old anyway. It’s a yes from me. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
That control from Hoilett from McGrath's cross field ball was lovely stuff 1 Link to comment
Millertime
Just watched his post match interview What a lovely man as well as a proper player He looked genuinely delighted for Boydy too Hope he does stay on 1 Link to comment

Postman Pats Cat
Totally agree. Best player today. Imagine him with pace in his early 20s! Let's keep him. Link to comment

donswin1983
Well worth a deal. Quality footballer and no doubt we’ve been better since he arrived. his first touch for the 3rd goal yesterday was sublime.. so much quality despite his advancing years. sign him up.. Link to comment
Redmist1903
I'm nae sure this guy will be the type of all out gegenpressing wide player that Thelin likes but I'd like to see him get another season, even if used off the bench later in games. If he's keen to stay and not on a fortune I'd be keen to make a deal with him. He's quite clearly a plaayer, his skill, technique and awareness are fantasic, as is his crossing and picking out a pass. He's one of the reasons we've improved. A proper player out wide with meaningful contribution instead of a Hayes / Duncan / Morris / Vinny type wasting a jersey. Link to comment
