Hillhead Astroturf

We've got a friendly next Wednesday on the Astroturf up at Hillhead (Keith Park)...has anyone played there before? If so, is it any good, like up to the standard of the field turf at Kaimhill? Or are our legs going to get shredded?

Not played there for a while but assume still same turf, which is the old sand based astroturf which is like playing on concrete. Trainers job as wont take a stud.

Apparently they re-laid it last year? Or 2006?

Ok - maybe the better stuff now then. Not been up there for good couple of years.

is it an astroturf pitch or a 3-g rubber crumb? If its been re-laid in 2006 i assume itd be 3-g or else AU really are sh*t.

That's what it was like when I last played there, but that was 2005, so wouldn't know if it's been changed.

Played there heaps before but not for a year or two. Think it's the same surface despite being relaid. Not great for diving on from a keepers point of view. I always used to wear moulders but quite a lot of folk wore those astro trainer things that you get.
