Guest SS RED
Take it that two goals is the first of many to come, looks a great finisher if not slightly slow. Still half an hour to go but sure the Boro fans will be happy with that 12 million pound signing now. Link to comment

Everytime I've seen him he's looked like a class act, but the ball just hasn't been falling to him infront of goal. Link to comment
Guest SS RED
Should have just had a hat-trick, so close. Link to comment
Guest SS RED
It was his second ever start in the EPl and he scored twice agaunst Man U and could have easy grabbed another two. Link to comment
aberdeenlad
12 million is alot of money, when you think that owen in his prime only cost R Madrid 8 million and in my eyes owen is still a better player. Link to comment

E-P-K
His goals per game ratio in Holland was as good as RVN and Van Basten. 45 goals in 39 games for Heerenveen Link to comment

Owen was not in his prime. He had lost that burst of speed which made him impossible for defences to deal with after two serious injuries. Although still a dangerous striker, he wasn't the player he used to be, and didn't fit into the manager's plans, and was therefore forced out. The deal was not Link to comment
Jaws
Although his goals ratio in Holland was impressive it's difficult to tell if he'll be a success in the EPL. You just need to look at Kezman for example. Socred a similar amount of goals in a season for PSV but just didn't cut it in England. That's not to say Alves will be the same but the EPL is far superior to the Dutch League. Link to comment
