This Is How Its Done

Peterborough signed their young keeper Joe Lewis from Norwich for 400k in January.

Now Everton and other EPL clubs are chasing him and he's in the England squad. Probably end up selling him for 4m quid this summer.

4m quid for someone who was playing in League 2!!!

Thats how it should be done though. Get in players with potential and flog them on at their peak.

Mind you, if we'd signed him he'd probably have rotted on the bench for a while, scored 2 own goals on his debut and been released on a free within 10 months.

As the old adage goes...'you have to speculate to accumulate' - just wish Milne would do this.

It's all very well preaching fiscal responsibility but there are certain occasions where the chequebook should come out for a genuine talent. Recent interest in the Dutch lad Bodde from EPL Clubs would suggest this is true.

Totally agree... there is another old adage that also seems quite apt here... "you can't polish a turd!" Which seems to apply to the dross that Scottie Calderwood keeps bringing over from Holland & the rubbish we keep signing from Dundee United & Dunfermline.
