minijc
Aberdeen Football Club can confirm that Karim Touzani has left the club this afternoon. The Dutchman has returned home to sign a three year deal with Sparta Rotterdam. The former Ajax Academy youngster joined from FC Twente in 2006. He made 25 appearances for the Dons scoring one goal which came against Dundee Utd at the end of last season. Deployed in defence and midfield, his career at Pittodrie was hampered by injury. Everyone at Pittodrie would like to wish Karim all the best for the future. Well done Aberdeen, another player gone from our already small squad and again gone for nothing despite having a year left on his deal. All the best Karim. Link to comment
Dynamo
Good luck to him. never really given a chance to nail down a place in the first X1.Why did we let a player go for free who was under contract anyway? Sparta just recieved a few million for one of their players too! Link to comment

All the best Karim. Has it been confirmed we got nothing ? If that is the case then questions have to be asked about the business acumen of thosewho took the decision.Far too many players leave us for nothing. Link to comment

Jaws
We really are a joke club. No wonder we're in so much debt when we make bad business decisions like this. Link to comment
zander
Again who said it was for free? Doesnt say by mutal consent or because he was unhappy. Anyway could this pave the way for Bakens? Link to comment
OneZanderDiamond
F***ing disgrace if he leaves for free!!!! Wish him all the best. Link to comment
Johnny Mac
All the best to him. Lets be honest, he was never going to get a game anyway! Link to comment
minijc
I am jumping the gun but knowing us, we are a family club and wont stand in the way of letting them go... I assume there is no fee involved otherwise there would be a mention. Link to comment

Jaws
Again who said it was for free? Once again, i'm jumping to conclusions but it's what we do. We say he's not getting a game so we let him go for nothing. In fact i'll be surprised if we've received anything. Link to comment
Milners
We really are a joke club. No wonder we're in so much debt when we make bad business decisions like this. Bad business decisions??? How many clubs are going to buy Touzani for money since he has made overall 16 starts in 2 years. Surprised people are kicking up a stink that we should have got a massive fee for someone so many injuries and also didn't set the heather on fire. My concern is the squad size though although at least we are covered in midfield. Link to comment
Tommy
It's like when a player who has been out injured for ages returns : He's like a new signing. When we release one for free : The release of the wages is really like receiving a transfer fee. But, until the club actually state he was released for zilch, i'll keep calm. Link to comment

When he did play he tended to do a job. I don't think even 100k would have been unreasonable. Link to comment
Hunter
probably a token sum, maybe get a youngster on loan for a season in return? Link to comment

Dandyjam
Hopefully we got some sort of nominal fee to cover the remainder of his wages. All the best to him, could of been a great player for us but when he wasn't injured, he hardly got a chance. Link to comment
minijc
Exactly, that's why I'm so angry. We should have got about 250k in today's market. No we wouldn't have, as much as i liked him we should have atleast got 50k to cover wages and that. Afterall if we got 250k for him i would be affa happy but then again annoyed that Barry Went for nothing... Link to comment

Not that bothered as games i watched him play for reserves and also first team i felt the majority he was pretty sh*te especially in defence where he was a liability. There is a couple of games he was fantastic but then again it wasn't very often but overall i felt he was not suited for the scottish game. No point on having someone at the club that is out for 1/2 a season especially with the size of our squad. The comments on here makes him out to be diego maradona which makes me laugh. Sonoftherock
This suggests we must have others lined-up... otherwise it'd be folly to release yet another player from our already strained squad. Link to comment
zander
Poor from the mods locking the original Touzani topic Link to comment
KennyS
Oh well. Shame he never got / was able to put a decent run together. Link to comment
Tommy
Our squad is too small as it is. As Jimmy said, it's hard trying to add to the squad. So unless a fee is involved he should be going nowhere. Link to comment
florin_raducioiu
Emnes is probaly a better player than touzani also Todders wont reveal figures expect P&j to do it tommorow Aye, we weren't expecting Link to comment
Tommy
Taking my taxi driver's badge off (briefly) Jimmy will have good reason for letting him be transferred. A new signing or loan deal has to be coming soon. Link to comment

To answer your question in bold, if a team's willing to give him a three year deal then they must rate him to a certain extent. I'm sure Link to comment
fifesheep
According to BBC sports -- Karim Touzani [Aberdeen - Sparta Rotterdam] Free. As has been already mentioned - for us not to even demand a nominal fee is a disgrace !! Link to comment
