"Rangers pair Lee McCulloch and David Weir and Hearts midfielder Michael Stewart also miss out but Derby winger Kris Commons retains his place after making his debut against Northern Ireland. " http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7583850.stm There's no way David Queer should be anywhere near the Scotland squad. Link to comment
Tord31
So looks like the team is Gordon Alexander Weir McManus Naysmith Hartley Brown Fletcher Robson McFadden Miller I think we'll be very very very lucky to get 6 points Link to comment
Maguire89
WTF... Calum Davidson!? Kris Commons!? David Weir? :oHe should nominate Seve or Zander(when he's fit), but not these daft players ! Link to comment

You're right about Davidson and Weir though - Get some folk in who might be still standing by the Finals. Link to comment

Okay, Commons played some good stuff against NI, but at his Club he's the most ineffective offensive player they have. Link to comment
Donmacca
Is it just me who rates Zander more than Barr? Surely when Zander is fit he's got to be pushing for a place ahead of him. Link to comment

I agree with you and when Anderson is playing he goes infront of both. Personally i wouldnt have Alexander, Barr, Davidson or Weir anywhere near a Scotland squad due to age and quality issues that i have with them!! Link to comment
barassie_afc
but yogi talks up barr in the media and the media love yogi Link to comment
Tord31
I'd still play Weir for the meantime as the other choice is Caldwell who is prone to absolute shitness. Agree on the others, suprised we still have to play Alexander but so be it. Hopefully one of Barr/Berra/Anderson (unlikely at Burnley)/Diamond/whoever steps up to the plate. As after new year I'd hope for Gordon Hutton XXX McManus Naysmith Hartley Brown Fletcher Ferguson Robson McFadden Link to comment
KennyS
No Hutton's a pretty big blow. Link to comment

My hatred of Caldwell is well known so thought i'd leave him out of it this time!! Link to comment

True_Don
McNaughton might get in at LB, he plays there for Cardiff. I actually think Weir should be in the side, he might not be playing by the time the finals come along, but his experience is important in what is otherwise a very young defence. Hutton is a big miss, as to is Barry Ferguson...Fletcher will be a big player for us. I think Garry O'Connor might also start to find his feet at international level and hopefully start banging them in! Link to comment
Dynamo
I won't criticise Burley until after a few games, but I don't think he's the man for the Scotland job at all!!!! I've said that since day one. Neither do I. Link to comment

Give Barr the benefit of the doubt for now, but those 3 others and Gary Naysmith should be long gone from International football. Link to comment
Scarface
Michael Stewart is a good shout for inclusion in the squad, he's had a cracking start to the season with Hearts. Clarkson of Motherwell is merited also IMO and I reckon Kevin Thompson has a lot to offer. My starting XI would be: Gordon, Alexaner, McManus, Weir, Naysmith, Fletcher, Hartley, Brown, Robson, McFadden, Miller Link to comment
