Dandyjam
I just heard this and I'm frigging raging! The boy is utter garbage and it's just a sign of OF bias. I don't know if I can cheer on Scotland if that useless twat gets on the pitch and gets a cap. Burley you utter tosser. Link to comment
Tord31
I have no problem with this. Pretty much a stick on Graham Alexander will play 180 mins for Scotland in the next week or so. He is 35. Broadfoot is best bet at the moment. McNaughton is already in the squad. Who else is there? Hart? Hmm, not sure. Anderson is not a right back Link to comment
Sheeptastic
Would never of got a look in when he was at St. Mirren. The guy has always been utter cr@p. Link to comment

Never wanted Burley in charge cos he is a tosser and he's destinedfor failure simply because the w.o.s.media will be selecting his teams. And i see Craig Browns going to be having a chat with squad too.How inspirational that will be. I'm glad The Dons are my team. Link to comment

barassie_afc
looks like this maybe a first and am agreeing with roberto, its a sad day when a limited gimpoid like broadfoot gets a call up , i am a SSC member but to be honest i really cannae be bothered anymore if this is the lazy pish that is going to be selected Link to comment
Lang Bar
I feared this was going to happen.I know the truth hurts but only when we are up there mixing it with the OF will we once again provide players for the national squad. In the meantime we should get behind the likes of Shaun Maloney and Barry Robson, as our local representatives in the squads. Link to comment
CoveSheep
This hasn't been confirmed anywhere. Jamie Langfield has been called in to replace David Marshall. Scots who don't support their own country are not right in the head. Especially those who claim to 'support' foreign clubs that they can have no real connection with at all. Link to comment
King Street Loon
I'll still support Scotland. But not as passionately as I have previously, simply because I have no faith in our manager. Our manager is a tosser and some of his selections infuriate me. Darren barr FFS!! And Kirk Clubfoot is just a prick, who if he was still plying his trade down Paisley way. Wouldn't get a look in. We're not going to South Africa under this clown!! Link to comment

paulkaneatemyhamster
Broadfoot is a bit sh*te, of that there is no argument. however what other right backs do we have right now that are fit, young , experianced and avilable ? Best of a very bad bunch if you ask me. However these next 2 games are vital for Burley. so far he's done nothing to suggest he can take us further, in fact I'd go as far and say if he loses either game he should go. Link to comment

Site Sponsor RTYD Posted September 2, 2008 Site Sponsor Share Posted September 2, 2008 So we'll be playing for a 0-0 draw in Macedonia on Saturday then. If we don't win in Macedonia I think it could be the end of our challenge. Yes I know it is the first game but it wasn't the defeats to Italy that cost us it was the defeats in Ukraine and Georgia. The Oxford Don
The Glasgow Rangers player Kirk Broadfoot has today sensationally revealed that he has been part of the Channel 4 TV show Faking It for the last 3 years. The player broke the news today at a hastily arranged press conference as it emerged new Scotland manager George Burley had drafted the "player" into his squad for the up-coming World Cup qualifiers. Broadfoot, who informed the waiting press corps that he was in fact a carpet fitter from Fife, said "This experience has been great, but I now feel that I would totally be out of my depth and there is no way I could let down the country I love so much by pulling on the dark blue jersey". Channel 4 have defended their decision to allow Broadfoot to move to Rangers from St Mirren. Saints have issued a statement saying: "The program makers approached us with their plan; we were only too willing to be a part of their experiment. We started that season with 4 or 5 new players and knew one was from the programme". Rangers would not be drawn on the future of the player at Ibrox, only saying in a short statement "Kirk has been one of our most consistent performers over the last 18 months". Gers boss Walter Smith was also unavailable for comment. S.F.A chief Gordon Smith was quick to back George Burley after some sections of the Tartan Army turned on the manager and pointed out that this merely confirms what they have always known; namely that any carpet fitter from Fife could get a game for Scotland, so long as he was wearing an Old Firm strip. Hibernian meanwhile have been quick to reassure their fans that Colin Nish has not also been part of this experiment. Link to comment
Virgin Don
What a bloody farce this clown is getting into the Scotland squad. Absolute embarrassment having him play in a Scotland jersey and glad am not going this week. Stewart getting in today as well is a joke. Not happy with the way Burley has done his selection. minijc
Kirk is an abortions of a player gutted he is in the team, don't mind Stewart but Nicholson would be better and deserves it more than him. Link to comment

NorthernLights24
SCOTLAND boss George Burley put his foot in it last night when he praised Kirk Broadfoot for his "limited ability". Burley dropped his clanger as he welcomed the Rangers defender into the international fold. Scotland were reeling from six call-offs before the World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Macedonia and Iceland, and Broadfoot was called up along with keeper Jamie Langfield and midfielder Michael Stewart. Revealing that Broadfoot's performance against Aiden McGeady in Sunday's Old Firm match at Parkhead finally won him over the manager said: "It's great to see somebody, you've got to say maybe with limited ability, who has really worked hard at his game and progressed and held his own in Europe. :angry8: Link to comment

florin_raducioiu
Time to panic. Alexander, as much as he's not great is a doubt and Broadfoot it would appear is in line to start if he doesn't make it. Oh dear. How much do we NEED Alan Hutton these days. I dont even know if he's got as much as ten caps but he is such an important part of our team nowadays I feel. In brighter news, Kenny Miller is a major doubt. Presume it'll be Boyd and McFadden up top. Other options of Clarkson, Maloney and Steven Fletcher. Hmm Link to comment
