K-9
Main attraction Messi will not play in this game - from Northsound: Argentina star Lionel Messi will not face Scotland at Hampden, the South American country's football federation have confirmed. Barcelona have successfully lobbied for Messi to sit out the friendly international on November 19, having reluctantly released him for the Olympics in August. The SFA had signed a deal for Argentina's full squad to come to Glasgow, but their visitors have decided to withdraw 21-year-old Messi. ``After our negotiations with Barcelona, we have come to the conclusion we musttake care of Messi,'' a spokesman for the AFA said. No doubt others will follow. Link to comment

vanderark14
exactly, complete waste of time i think the team needs to get together and sort out any "division" there may be in the squad and tell the rest of the team to forget abut Boyd and his toys out of the pram act and the fact that friendlies no longer are meaningless and have a bearing on your ranking and seeding. I would still tell Argentina to frigg off as part of the deal was that the players would get to play against the "superstars". Link to comment

gypsymuffin
I've heard the favourite to take over the Argentina job is the guy who led the olympic team to gold. Not sure of his name. I'm not going to the game, friendlies are always piss poor games. Will be there in April for the iceland game for sure. Link to comment
