Anyone think that it was a bit harsh on Ronaldo?

 

Booking 1 - his 1st foul of a game, pretty innocuous

Booking 2 - clearly trying to catch the ball, not punch it in as he was winning the header.

 

Ref has been terrible for both teams, made a rod for his own back by booking Rafael for flinging the ball in the air and has had to do the same to Ireland when in no way were either worth bookings.

Certainly not whistle clearly was blown after the incident. :cry:

You're not exactly seeking to gain advantage when you have a virtually free header at a corner. He was trying to catch the ball because he thought play had stopped. Three or four man city defenders were protesting his case.

First booking (like most in this game) was a joke.

 

 

Well if he heard a whistle, why did he try and claim in the seconds after that he had been pushed?
