E-P-K
Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland are planning a bid to host Euro 2016 Currently , Wales has the Millenium stadium that is suitable Northen Ireland have none. Scotland has Murrayfield, Hampden , Ibrox and Parkhead. But the same problem as Euro 2008 on 2 stadium from one city can be used. A minimum of 8 stadia in 7 cities is required. Link to comment

Slim
Cardiff x 2Swansea x 1Belfast x 1Glasgow x 2Edinburgh x 1Aberdeen x 1 That's 8 stadia there, unfortunately with the expansion of the competition to 24 teams, we'll need more. Are Hibs planning on doing something more with Easter Road? Is Romanov serious about expanding Tynecastle? I think there's another stadium in Northern Ireland that could be used that's currently used for hurling or some bollocks. Link to comment
Ross the Red
could Murryfield be converted into a football stadium for the purposes of the tournament? Link to comment

Ross the Red
I just mean would they use murrayfield or would they look to hearts and hibs to expand their stadiums. Link to comment
vanderark14
I just mean would they use murrayfield or would they look to hearts and hibs to expand their stadiums. i'm sure from a cost point of view they would use murrayfield. and the fact its bigger and could be used as a semi final venue where as hearts and hibs would hold less people. Slim
Not sure, but I think the one city with 2 stadiums thing is just a guideline, not set in stone. Link to comment
K-9
Hearts will have their new super main stand built by then with hotels and all mod cons attached bringing their capacity up to 55000 to fit in all their fans, so should be ok for another stadium. Link to comment

At The Border Guy
Is the minimum allowed capacity 30000 or 35000? Reckon this will be a complete non-starter if more than 2 nations are involved Link to comment

fatshaft
us. the welsh and irish can get te frigg Switzerland & Austria managed fine. I would imagine three joint hosts would be too many, but then again, if theye are expanding the tourney it might just get the nod. Link to comment

I read a couple of years back that UEFA were wanting to steer away from the two nation-hosted tournaments, but reckon they'll re-evaluate that with the larger tournament. Certainly can't see them voting in 3 host nations though. Link to comment
