What is the big deal with this guy? How has he managed to make two big money moves to two of the richest clubs in the world, when other much better left-backs could be bought buy Man City?

I suppose they want someone who is used to playing well regularly in the premeriship as Hughes needs to get results quickly rather than buying some foreign star who may need a settling in period before they start playing well. Bridge is a quality player anyway, some chelsea fans see him as better than cole.

I actually agree with them. Yes Cole is a great attacking full-back, but OMG he can't defend, something Bridge can do right.

I'd rate Bridge as the third best left back in the EPL behind Evra and Cole.

 

Defensively he's probably better than those two but not as good going forward
