Guest SS RED
Anyone buy this? Bought it for the first time tonight, it's pretty good, Gabriell Marcotti (The best Football pundit on earth) has a column in it along with other good writers such as Barcley and Speirs. It does make the brainless drivel that the EE spouts look even worse. Well worth a read, and the Dons match report is good for all you JMGers, the headline reads "Calderwood feeling pressure of Supporters Expectations". Link to comment
minijc
Might check it out, Gab is a fantastic pundit btw. Link to comment

Jocky Balboa
Headline would be more accurate if it was: "Calderwood feels pressure of not winning a game in f**king ages". True, but the Masonic media never let the truth get in the way of a good (i.e. anti-AFC) story, do they? Link to comment
Tommy
A decent read. I wonder if Mark Walker's a supporter. Expectation : Its a word that has been used in realtion to Aberdeen dfrom every single manager that has succeeded Alex Ferguson. Each manager since then, from the late Ian Porterfield, to the present incumbent, Jimmy Calderwood, has used the word - many usingit as a stick to beat the Aberdeen supporters - some complaining that it was unrealstic. The truth is somewhat different.Years of underachievement since the Fergie glory days have relegated the ambitions of those expectationsto realistic levels.Contrary to popular belief, those of an Aberdeen persuasion dont demand the Premier league title or a return toeuropean domination. A thirs place challenge, the odd success against the old firm and a decent scottish cup run is closer to theirreal expectations. Not exactly the quintuple is it ?What the most certainly do demand is the avoidance of utter humiliation by the likes of qots.Infuriatingly and embarrassingly for these supporters, Aberdeen havent reached the Scottish cup final for 9n years and not wonit for 19.Now that really isnt good enough for the third biggest club in the country. Exactly - an entierely credible target that we are failing to achieve - though the reality is in these halcyon days for Scottish football that a decent manager and board combo from Hearts or ourselves could break into the infirms domination of the top two spots, staying there might be hard as the evil duo try to buy out the players but if you can build a team once you can do it again - hell how many teams has Fergie built? King Street Loon
The Times Sport section is a great read, and has some great journo's writing for it. Fat Charlie,Andrew Moir & Shaun Wallace should read it to get some tips at journalisim. As for what Mark Walter's said. Nail on Head,Right on the money,Bullseye etc. Link to comment
