Nae seen it mentioned here but Millwall v Peterborough last night was a disgrace.

 

Millwall get a pen (no quibbles about it) and the Peterborough keeper makes a perfectly good save only to be called back for a retake for God knows what reason. Presumably the fact he flexed his calf muscle before the kick was taken or some other minor reflex movement.

 

Pen is retaken and the keeper saves again! Only for the same fud linesman to make the same ridiculous call again and order another retake.

 

Millwall change the taker and they finally manage to score on the third attempt.

 

Not even at Ibrox can I recall a pen being taken THREE TIMES!! Cheated.

If you're calling that 'off his line' then every single pen would need to be retaken.

To be honest, Millwall deserved the victory overall but it was ridiculous refereeing.

 

The standard of football was probably better than most SPL games and Peterborough have a handful of players that put AFC's 'triers' to shame.

If you saw Leicester v Leeds earlier in the day then you'd agree that was a lot better than most SPL pish.

 

And a superb last minute winner from Steve Howard - the title is all the more closer now. Poor Posh.

I would like to think that both Leicester and Leeds could produce better displays than most SPL teams.

Absolutely ridiculous for the pen to be retaken both times. The keeper has just naturally dived forwards as you're taught to do when you're starting off in the game. Just more proof that referees and officials who haven't played football dont understand certain aspects of the game.

 

There are some instances where it's obvious when they take a step forward blatantly but you're taught to dive towards the ball at an angle rather than directly along your line so referees have got to bear this in mind with most keepers picking a side to dive to and beginning their dive slightly before the ball is kicked.

Agree but was only the one season for Leicester, first time and probably only time ever in 3rd tier of English football.

 

Leeds played well yesterday and should walk the play offs.

Christ it goes from bad to worse. I thought Scottish refs were bad but English League One seems to take the biscuit.

 

Today we had the spectacle of a linesman flagging for what presumably was a soft foul by the Stockport defender about 6 yards INSIDE the penalty area. After a few minutes discussion the ref and linesman managed to somehow work out that the correct outcome should be a free-kick to Peterborough about a yard from the corner flag.

 

The Peterborough player hadn't been in the part of the pitch for the full move so Christ knows where they got that from!!

 

Ah well never mind. Posh are going up and Millwall aren't!!! Nae luck LS.
