i noticed they started with -30 points and won a trophy recently too

 

why were they giving such a big points deduction??? seems a bit much to me

It was 10 then 20 and then upped to 30 for being in administration.

 

Would be comfortable in mid table without the penalty.

 

Shame as remember them in play off zone of the championship few years ago when Newell was in charge.

10 points for breaking rules regarding payments to agents (which happened in 2005-6 I think)

 

15 points for failing to agree a CVA with creditors and thus breaking league rules on insolvency.

 

And the other 5 points was to do with administarion.

They were always going to be f**ked from day one starting on minus 30 points.

 

They showed by winning the JP Trophy they can mix it with teams in a league above them. I think they'll bounce straight back to League Two if they can keep the majority of their squad.

My mates are Luton fans and were down for the final last week.

 

The FA have completely screwed them over but with the new chairman in charge hopefully they will come straight back

Must say I've had a soft spot for Luton since they got that massive points deduction. Shame they couldn't have survived but was happy for them winning the JP Trophy. Was a belter of a game in fact
