Wheres All The Money Coming From.

Recommended Posts

Not saying it would have made a difference for sure but where is all the money coming from to get in the new players that couldn't have been found before. We couldnae sign Grant Bassy and now we can get in Blackman and Milsom and maybe Steward plus the full backs that we definitely needed.

Ifill and Velika off the wage bill must have helped but we must be shelling out more than that? Dunno.

Did Browner negotiate a bumper transfer swag bag or he wouldnt come?

I did have the same thought.

McGhee clearly didn't have the same budget that Calderwood or Brown has had.

Is it too far of a stretch to believe Milne has stuck into his pocket after the fright of potential relegation, or we're looking forward to a rather frightening wage bill that gets added to the debt.

Its mental the dosh we've wasted on getting rid of two managers and trying to cut wages by loads then getting in a boss and paying up again. We dont seem to have improved much and I think Brown will need to do some deals in the summer to make this side any good. f**k knows but it just seems to be such a yo-yo these days.

The time to invest in the squad was 3 years ago when we had our european run. A little investment at that point, for instance keeping players like nicholson and Clark etc etc would have secured that teams legacy.

For all i thought it was time for calderwood to go, he needed more investment and that has been our best team for a decade.....in relative terms at least.

The deal was the board would stretch to facilitate these signings as long as when we go to the summer more players would leave to bring the wage bill back in line.

A temporary slush fund.

No, not true, it's a better deal than that, one that can give us real hope for the future.

We may well lose high earners in the summer, but we'll be replacing them, and we'll be replacing them with players of real quality.

Wait and see.

What i heard was that Brown was given the cash the was coming in from the semi final to use on short term deals and that in summer he wont get all the wages of the short termers, just the money from those leaving.

Exactly. It's a temporary loan, an advance/sub of money that has to be returned. Once a few leave on bosmans, Diamonte for example that will pay for your Milsoms etc.

Brown alluded to this when he signed in that the board have been accommodating in the "short term" and "flexible" not just plain generous.

It's a deal basically.

Well if you're asking for evidence I cannot provide it on a public forum, far too much scrutiny as I'm sure you'll be aware.

I'm 100% confident of my position on this, if that helps.

I canna say too much.

I wish I could believe you were speaking from fact & knowing things that we don't but my belief is that you are only speaking from pure optimism & :crossfingers:

As I said, all I can say to you is wait and see.

Speculating further is pointless.

Those that know me will tell you I'm not often wrong, and I don't go in for rumour or conjecture.

I do wish I could say more, maybe I will at a later stage, but it would be unwise to say any more now.
