ten-caats-adventure
With many of Browns signings being of the short term variety (Blackman and Smith on loan, Milsom and McNamee until the end of the season) do you agree with Browns signing policy, or should he have had anough confidence in the current players and his and Knox's coaching nous to pull us out of danger and kept the transfer kitty for a bigger summer spend? Just a question....... Link to comment

Just a question....... Put a player on a long term deal and he doesnt fit or cant settle its a waste of money tbh we have tem effectibvely on trial for 6 months Also look where we were - we were bottom of the league staring relegation in the face - IF it had all gone wrong the last thing you want is mcnamee Milson and all the current squad on spl wages in Div 1 On the otherside a player that plays well will attract interest - no doubt to it I dont think there is a wrong or right answer to contract lengths tbh Link to comment
Jack_Glass
i think given finances loan signings are the only way forward until we have a youth system that delivers good players on a regular basis or until we're debt free Link to comment
dezzy_dan
It was undoubtedly the correct approach taken by Craig Brown to bring in players until the end of the season. He'll have had a general idea about the deficiencies within our squad from games v Motherwell and he's added in the areas we lacked (two natural full backs and a creative centre mid). If we don't manage to hang on to them it's a shame, but stage one of this job is to keep us up and to improve the feeling around the club. The new signings have contributed in both those areas. Another bonus is that we effectively have a few of them on a six month trial in which time Brown can assess what they will bring to the rebuilding job from next season onwards. He can also sell his vision of the club to the players and they can see it in operation. Let's face it, we are not that attractive a prospect for players right now. If he can get guys in and they see positive changes in the club, then word may spread of a new positive atmosphere around Pittodrie. Short term signings, for now, are the way forward. They are the building blocks of Craig Brown's revolution. Link to comment
