Rossshepherd
Was just wondering, not sure if anybody has done this before. If we do sell the rights to the name of our stadium, what would be the WORST name our stadium could be get from some company that knows nothing about football. Link to comment

fatshaft
It should be called the Wiggy Dome, bit it winna be, so... I would have thought it couldna get worse than the Anusol Arena, or the Tampax Stadium Link to comment
Crossbow
Dung Heap is quite bad to begin with almost anything is up from there Link to comment
madjockmcferson
Extra money if we go through a bad period? Some American stadiums have horrendous names like '3com stadium' or 'Enron Park' or 'Minute Maid Park'. I wonder what the new stands will be called? Gothenberg and Pittodrie end would be good. Maybe a Ferguson End? Link to comment
robbo
anything that has the word ranger or celtic in it would be far worse Link to comment
Admin Bebo Posted March 10, 2011 Admin Share Posted March 10, 2011 Extra money if we go through a bad period? The stadium is meant to glow bright red at night. Maybe it could just glow 3-4 days a month. Link to comment
madjockmcferson
A good time to pay tribute to Dougie Bell? I just think there were so many outstanding players of the 80's that there isn't enough stands to name it after every player.....so Gothenburg is a good catch all. I like the idea they have at some cricket grounds where they have famous player names on stands.....we could have that - it would be cool. Link to comment
robbo
i concur like, a Noel Whelan bar, for example? An Ilian Kiriakov smoking area? a Gary MacDonald tour, which is a tour around our trophy cabinet since 1995? fair play to you frankie, those genuinely are 3 stunning ideas Link to comment

Zico
On the flip side, what is the best we could hope for in terms of a decent profile company? I think Aberdeen Asset Management would be ideal as at least then if their logo is plastered all over it, it simply says Aberdeen. They'd need to change the font to red though. Link to comment
Betty Swallicks
Best; Coca Cola (massive company and reed and white). Worst; Irn Bru, Lorne Sausage (or any other weeg product). Link to comment
Red Loon
the Tampax Stadium Appropriate given that its a bunch of fan*ies that will play in it Link to comment
Batting71
Some American stadiums have horrendous names like '3com stadium' or 'Enron Park' or 'Minute Maid Park'. Pizza Hut Park and Dick's Sporting Goods Park have to be the two worst American ones. I suppose the Aberdeen equivalent would be "The Thistle Windows Aberdeen 706555 Stadium". Link to comment
Rossshepherd
I'd take tampax. Link to comment

I'd call it the "New Ullevi" Stadium. Link to comment
RAZOR
But what about of other significant local businesses? WOOD GROUPSMGEtc And what could we realistically get over how many years? Sorry to be boring-! Wood Group will never own Aberdeen, Ian has made his feelings clear that he is a rugby fan and has no interest in football. Link to comment
