Jocky Balboa
A cracking player and pivotal in our 1991 run that should have landed the League Title. As Fergie said in his autobiog, he should have achieved more at International level, for he was certainly capable of going down as a great, but his time with us speaks for itself. A true powerhouse. deco_1985
I remember being at Pittodrie when I was about 5 years old (1990) for a match v Celtic, and I am sure Bett missed a penalty - I think he hit the post. Can anyone else remember this, or am I wrong? The match finished 0-0. However, what a player! Met him outside Pittodrie 2 years ago and he was more than happy to chat away. Gentleman! Link to comment

steems
A fantastic player for the Dons - you might be a bit confused as to when he met/married and initially played in Iceland. Link to comment
Ke1t
Jim Bett. Gets the Kelt seal of approval. Fantastic player. Link to comment
Crossbow
Absolute legend, with the bonus that he was playing great football against the huns. Would grace any of Aberdeens (or indeed Scotlands) teams, any era, any squad. Took no nonsense either. Solid, skillful, consistent and seemed unflappable. Just the opposite of our squad today. Jazzer_Bett
Had the pleasure to play with, and against him at Pittodrie. Even at 48 he was shelling 30 yard passes about the park, and managed to beat me (20 years his junior) with the drop of a shoulder. Top bloke, talked me through the match. For the Dons at his peak he could control a match and had everything you would want in a midfielder - touch, vision, shooting ability, and a hard attitude/tackle. I salute you Jazzer; Link to comment
boboisared
Definitely missed a pen as on one of the old Dons vhs' he steps up to take a penalty against Utd away and the commentator says he has a 50% record from the spot. Never saw him play in the flesh but saw a goal he scored against the Huns when they had already won the league and we're having a celebration day which we ruined and he scored a screamer of a free kick. Dandyjam
Amazing player and a cracking guy too Seconded. One of my favourite Aberdeen players when growing up. Oozed class and sprayed passes about for fun. A true legend. Also had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times through my old work and he's a top bloke. Link to comment
