tup
Based on what performances of late? Have you noticed we're now winning again? Did you notice the heavy defeat to United without Maguire? We are a much better team with Maguire in than without him, if you refuse to acknowledge that there's little point in debating it, some folk have fixed their viewpoint on Maguire and steadfastly refuse to budge. I dinna care, Levein can see he's got talent and is a special player. Our best youngster since Jess. Link to comment
Stoney
To be fair to the lad he did wipe out four kids in the merky last night. Thats talent Link to comment

Only gets called up because we were playing Northern Ireland, wasn't it? Link to comment

His individual performances in the last 2 months does not merit a Scotland squad. The fact he has been picked is a different debate. Link to comment

Wouldnt say any Aberdeen player was good last night, St.Mirren were by the far better side and should have taken advantage. Link to comment

But the whole Scotland squad is experimental and doesn't look strong at all. Just hope Brazil not taking this one serious or could be a pummelling!! Link to comment
fifered
First half in particular last night I thought Maguire did well. His flick over his head to take out two defenders and then shot was the highlight. He still has a tendency to run with his head down a lot, something he needs to get over if he is to take the next step. His hold up play and link play has improved vastly in the last year or so. RAZOR
Feel free to challenge any point i made. What performances in the last 2 months would you say deserves an international call up? Just the match will do Link to comment

Two shots on target and restiricted to long range shots. You are quite ridiculous... As for the Goodwillie part, there is space in the squad for both. Even if Maguire was the first choice back-up outside the squad, it would not even be a criticism. His shot that took a good save from Gallacher yesterday was sublime from the moment he controlled the ball till the moment he took the shot. His play for the shot that Aluko hit the bar with was decent. Still not doing the right thing 100% of the time, but still capable of doing things that only really Aluko can match (or better at times). Link to comment

Just the match will do Get over yersel min. Brown, Stark and Levein have all had high praise for him recently. These are the type of people worth listening to. It's about being good at football, not individual performances on quagmire pitches in the depths of a harsh Scottish winter. He's got a rare talent, are you blind to that? Link to comment

Just the match will do Look back at my JIT and I thought he did well in the Hamilton game (only player not to resort to being sh*t just because of the opposition). Hearts game I thought all our players played well and was unfortunate finishing from many. Last night, as I said, he did things well and poorly. The things he did well were exceptional though. Foster14
4 shots on target and 5 shots off target but never mind. BBC stats perchance? They are always right, eh? Name the 4 shots on target. I have 1 long range pishy shot in the first minute and 1 cleared by a defender circa 75-80 minutes. Langers didn't make a save other than the first minute, so not too sure when the other two were. Even if you were going by BBC stats as well, the possession of 56% and greater amount of shots would suggest Aberdeen deserved it, no? Link to comment
Foster14
Why cant you just answer the question? Fair enough, practice what you preach and all that. While you continually focus on negatives, I'll look at the positives, ta very much. Yet another thread where you can't even begin to remotely consider Maguire's ability properly and give any form of proper critical appraisal. Link to comment

Foster14
Nope afc.co.uk. Did it have the same possession stats then? More chances for Aberdeen? Can you not answer the question put forward and name the other two shots on target they had, as I seem to be having selective memory... Link to comment

When he continually has bad performances i will also say so. Think it was Roberto who said it. I want to like him, want to celebrate what he does but by god he makes it hard. Link to comment
tup
Why cant you just answer the question? I addressed the question. Why does an individual game on a pitch with barely a blade of grass on it, for a team full of average players like we have, mark him down as poor. Once again I implore you to open your eyes and look at his ability rather than individual games against hatchet men filled opposition which mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Who's the best football player in our squad? Maguire, by some distance. Link to comment
