Pergo etc. can look good, the b&q stuff is generally pish though.

 

To Daytripping, have you considered amtico/karndean vinyl flooring?

 

Its probably going to be Bamboo stuff, goes together like the laminate, clicks in. Will take a look at your suggestions though, I'm still at the planning stage so have not bought anything yet.

While we're on the subject of good advice, don't put down laminate. It looks disgusting and is cheap and nasty. Even the expensive stuff. Get real wood down.

I've had Quickstep Perspective 1V natural varnished oak down in my livingroom for years. Looks good and as new as the day it was laid.

Use minimum 9mm moisture resistant boards with at least .5mm laminate veneer and you'll be fine.
