DieHardDandy
I live down South so I only hear games on the radio and see the games on tv. I was bowled over to speak to a mate with a season ticket who said Ryan Jack's a dreadful footballer, that games often pass him by and that his passing is ropey. He said some of the other lads with STs feel the same. For me, Jack's had a decent first season (despite having been mismanaged by McGhee) and he looks like a lad with big potential. I've never heard him get slated on the radio or seen him really cock up in a match. What's your view? Is the lad full of pish or potential? Link to comment
minijc
He's good on the ball but sometimes the game does pass him by, as roberto says, he's young and can still learn but he really needs to sort out his passing it can be dodgy at times but it's mainly when he isn't under pressure he makes a poor pass, also he is very slow, like David Weir on smack. K-9
Comfortable on the ball but so slow. Jury most certainly still out on the lad but i am not seeing it as yet. Link to comment
Sandafc
Nonsence of a thread, boy is very good footballer.. Tailed off recently but think its just as hes played a lot of games this year when hes still young. Link to comment
RUL
He's average as feck, if you think he's very good then you need to raise your expectancy. Link to comment
Pudgie
Needed to step up this season due to injuries and did well. I hope and believe he will become a very good player for us. Bit like big Russ! Link to comment
DieHardDandy
From the generally lukewarm response, it sounds like the jury's out on Jack. I honestly expected a few more folks to defend him but it sounds like folks either aren't that bothered or think he's a bit iffy. I'm a bit surprised but no more surprised than when my mate slated him. Link to comment
zander
Think if we weren't so f**ked atm there wouldn't be such a negative view on him, think the lads got talent sometimes has look lost at times but think he will still be a good player for us. Link to comment
ollie1903
I've saw a lot of Ryan over the last three years or so. Huge potential. Never will be a dynamic, box to box type midfielder, the like we may have in Fyvie, but if there is another player as composed on the ball in our our current squad then I have yet to see it. He looks to me like a right old fashioned, Ray Wilkins type midfielder that just wants to keep the ball. Link to comment
King Street Loon
After an initial bright start he faded badly and looked largely unimpressive and offered no more than Deek Young IMO. Link to comment
OddJob
Yeah i certainly don't feel we've seen the best from him yet, will call it more of a transitional period for him. Definitely lacks pace that's for sure and at times has let games pass him by but i'm sure he'll stamp his authority on games next season. Link to comment
Redmist1903
I said a while ago when this lad first broke through that he wouldn't make the grade, mainly due to his chronic lack of pace, I haven't saw too much to convince me otherwise I'm afraid. Still only young though, but nae good to be so slow at his age. Link to comment
DieHardDandy
Sounds like most folks think Jack is pretty average. I'm a bit disappointed cos I thought he was better than that but fair enough. Jack: DANDIES SAY SORT YOURSELF OUT! YOU'RE TOO SLOW AND NEED TO PROVE YOU HAVE THE TALENT! SHOW US WE'RE WRONG! woohoo
Too many games on the trot for someone so young. Patches of bad form are hard to get through as a youngster it seems, rarely able to just play through them. But when he first came in he did a job, and did it very well. The pace may prove to be an issue but I still think he's got a future with us. Link to comment
Jazzer_Bett
He's going to be a good player and has showed this all season. Be honest, you just wanted to write a shitey pun thread title. Link to comment
K-9
Been ok today but just gone off injured. Link to comment
Dynamo
Personally thought he was pretty anonymous today. Link to comment
RUL
That's what I was thinking, same as always. Link to comment

barassie_afc
Just looks like another one of many run of the mill insipid youngsters we seem to produce Link to comment
laphroaig
Given time could be an alright player, I would not write him off yet. I dont think MM done him any favours the way he got introduced in such sh*t times. Link to comment
Jazzer_Bett
Mr Brown has stated that from now on, there will only ever be two youngsters in the team at any time. You don't win anything with kids. Link to comment
minijc
Eh? What was the exact quote?Ignore that pish from jazzer above, the main reason Cb doesn't many ytoungsters in the team at one time is the mental side of things, for example the 9-0 against Celtic, imagine that would have wrecked the mind of Jack and Robertson. Link to comment
Jazzer_Bett
Eh? Shut yer hole ya trumpet-you clearly don't listen to anything Craig Brown says. He is on record as saying this on Red TV, and he what he did was cite the 9-0 as an example as to why the use of youngsters should be limited to two at any time. You don't listen properly, just spout your ain pish as usual. Just like your namesake. Link to comment
Afc3
personally i think hes a great player. hard for him to show it when hes on the pitch with that lot! next season hopefully he will have some decent players to work with. alot of hype about jack when he first came through difficult to keep up the standards every week. next season u will see a great improvement i think.
