K-9
Just wondering if all reds will be cheering on Schalke against Manchester United in the semis of champions league? If Man Utd, or one of the Spanish teams win the Champions League then 2nd place in SPL will get into Champions League Qualifiers and 4th in the SPL (United) will get into the Europa qualifiers meanign 5 Scottish teams in Europe next season. However if Schalke win the Champions League then only 1 SPL teams gets in Champions League and 3 into Europa League. Reason for above is that countries can have maximum of 4 teams into Champions League and if English, Spanish or Italian team wins it the place reserved for holders is filtered down rankings table to country in 16th place which for the coming season is Scotland, meaning extra Euro place. oilcat
Is this true?.............Im pretty sure they said on the radio last week that the only way that the Jooot could get into Europe is if Der Bosche win the SPL and the JJ's win the cup If Schalke win the CL then the SPL champions go into the CL and the runners up, third place and fourthplace/Motherwell go into the Europa League Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Couldn't care less who wins. Although if it means more Euro spots for Scotland I will hope Schalke win. Although I do hate Aberdeen fans who support an English team with more passion than there own, just don't understand how people can support two teams. Link to comment

tup
England is more responsible than any other country for the horrific state of the game at the moment. Germany has a more equitable league and a greater spread of league winners. For that reason, get Man Utd to f**k, the huns of England, hope they get cuffed like their brethren Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. Mon the Schalke. I won't be watching this capitalist's footballing utopia. Link to comment
ericblack4boss
im a Liverpool man, who do you think i'll be cheering on Link to comment
Betty Swallicks
eeeeerm yup, think so! agree with your mentality, however if we can supply an extra place for next seasons europa league, im all for it! no point cutting our nose to spite our beautiful faces! You just don't get it do you? Link to comment
tup
We cannot qualify for Europe, we'd just get humped in any case, so I don't give a flying f**k how many places we get. Nor do I give a toss about the co-efficient. The lower the better. If it means we never see either of the scum in the big tournaments again, that can only be a good thing. Link to comment
Betty Swallicks
what, why i want whatever team to win the CL that results in Scotland getting more places in Europe being a bad thing? damn right i dont What, Damn, full stop. Link to comment
tup
you dont remember the run a few years ago then? Aye the scintillating run to the round before the quarter finals. This disna come onto football's radar. It's irrelevant in the grand scheme. It was enjoyable, but hardly groundbreaking. It helps Rangers and Celtic far more if we get a better co-efficient. Ergo, the lower the better. Link to comment

tup
you said "we'll just get pumped" if we get into europe well, no. i got to go to madrid to see aberdeen play and i got to witness us dismantle a regular champions league team 4-0, our club also made a lot of unexpected money out of it too this, my friend, is something which fans born 1984 and onwards greatly appreciate and would like to taste more of, so please do not belittle it Celtic, who have pulverised us this season, got thumped in Europe by Braga and Utrecht, two clubs of a similar standing to Aberdeen in their respective domestic leagues. Aberdeen, if we made Europe with this team, would embarrass the club with their performances. I have no interest in seeing that. If our co-efficient drops so low that Celtic and Rangers have to go through four two leg ties, two of which will be in the summer, to make the group stages I'll be absolutely delighted. Over the f**king moon. Maybe getting thumped every year in Europe will make them come to their senses. Link to comment
madjockmcferson
Couldn't care less about any of the teams, so I guess anyone but Schalke if that means we might get into Europe via 5th. Link to comment
