It would be kinda pointless, in fact self-destructive, not to aid a member state. The alternative to the EU is a whole bunch of shitty little countries competing against each other and, worryingly, against superblocs like China and America... see how that works out for Europe in the 21st century. Economically, politically and militarily the only way for Europe to remain relevant in the next century is to unify.... or learn Chinese as its first language. Link to comment
