Monureds
Just read in EE that Criag Brown wants players to maintain their discipline and to reduce the risk of being yellow or red-carded, It is his intention to freeze players out of the first team once they've served a suspension and to esnure that players cut out any dissention and to show respect! Whilst I don't want our players making rash tackles and piling up the red cards I want them to fight for the cause! We are where we are as we're far too nice and are fast becoming a soft touch! Being nice won't win us games!! Link to comment
mark2212
i read it more as a keep getting unnecessarily banned and show us we can't trust you, we'll drop you Link to comment
minijc
He said something similar when he first came in, Maguire got sent off and after his ban was up he was straight back in, Brown like many managers talks pish. Link to comment

mark2212
i'd rather the went through every other teams players with solid challenges, but fair ones that they dont get booked for Link to comment

Brown also stuck to his principle and he dropped Hartley for the 5-0 win against Killie. Link to comment

tutankamun
Quite a few of our red cards were for preventing a goal scoring opportunity, a few others were debatable to say the least. We are not a dirty team. Link to comment

Ke1t
Problem with that idea being that AFC, with one of the smallest playing rosters in the SPL last season, doesn't have the luxury of dropping players. And if it had been a case of sacrificing quantity for quality then I could have understood why we had such a small playing staff, but as we saw by the league finish we had neither quality nor quantity. Brown inherited a small, and talentless, team of sulky hacks... so while he may intend to drop players for infractions of his code of conduct he'll find he can't. I don't think it's a case of him talking pish so much as it is him just not being that familiar with AFC yet. Link to comment
OddJob
I know what he's trying to say, that he doesn't want us to get unnecessary red cards which could f**k us up for future games but at the same time it's a risk you take to win the game. We definitely have a team of bottlers who couldn't tackle a fish supper and would rather we had a nasty streak but not a Hearts style attitude. Link to comment
