NorthernLights24
Season is over and it seems the transfer into Pittodrie won't get going for another few weeks or so. To pass sometime lets rake through the interweb for a laugh/to relieve the boredom. The BBC never removes pages it would seem from their sports section and there are some strange stories from the not so distant past there. athenaeum
He was spot on the drunken bam Dons boss wants to go aloneAberdeen manager Steve Paterson says the struggling Pittodrie club don't need a director of football. Chairman Stewart Milne is reported to be keen on bringing Dons legend Willie Miller back to the club in such a capacity but Paterson has other ideas. "I'm the manager and see my job as the head of the club in all areas," Paterson told the Daily Record. "A director of football would cost a fair amount of money and I don't want to get drawn into it." He added: "You can throw up titles like head of development or whatever but I am at a stage where I will be looking at the whole structure. "There has been no talk about it but it's up to the chairman how he wants to structure the football club." Link to comment

NorthernLights24
Before Mark Kerr there was Leigh Hinds... Aberdeen have fined Leigh Hinds two weeks' wages and warned him about his future conduct after a nightclub brawl with former Clyde team-mate David Hagen. The club announced on their website that the 25-year-old former Wimbledon "Crazy-gang" striker had admitted being involved in the incident, which took place in a Newcastle club. Aberdeen officials met with Hinds on Tuesday and chief executive Keith Wyness said: "Leigh has been told in no uncertain terms that his behaviour is wholly unacceptable as an employee of Aberdeen Football Club and he has been fined the maximum amount possible. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/clyde/3115040.stm Didn't he moan after we released him that he hadn't been given a fitness program to follow over the summer so came back really unfit? Boy was poop, simple as that and he couldn't accept it. Have to say that despite being a jakey b*stard Paterson did indeed know a few things that other managers didn't. Like as you say Mackie's "ability". Link to comment
NorthernLights24
Do you think a guilty conscious made Brown change his mind and join us? Vice-chairman Stewart Milne revealed a strong recommendation from Scotland boss Craig Brown played a major part in the Dons' choice. He said: "Both Keith and myself spoke to numerous people in the game, including Craig Brown and Andy Roxburgh, and received the same message time and time again. "Alex has exactly the qualities we need as the man who can help this club realise its ambitions. "I can also confirm that we spoke to several other possible candidates but Alex was the unanimous choice." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/33554.stm Link to comment

Pointless role at the club and according to Teddy Scott was a complete dickhead (my words not Teddy's) Link to comment
