Geoff_Tipps
Just been discussing with a mate best performances of Aberdeen players in a single game. The two that immediately stick out as the two best performances I have witnessed are the following. Roberto Bisconti at home to Hertha Berlin I remember going with a few mates who aren't huge football fans and said keep your eye out for our number 7. by the end of the game they were amazed that someone as good could play for Aberdeen. He was everywhere that day crunching tackles a plenty and ran the show. Probably the single best performance I have seen from a man in red. Russell Anderson at home to Celtic (Gravesen Debut) That tackle is the main highlight, but Ando that day was unreal. How he wasn't Scotlands 1st choice centre half that season I will never know (actually I do know, he didn't play for either of the OF). Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
dougie bell....waterschi frank mcdougal....Huns (think wallace 1st game) jamie smith......copenhagen langfield...........Dnipro away Link to comment
Mr Brightside
Jamie Smith against Copenhagen stands out for me here, played excellently that day and will always remember that goal he netted- sublime. Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Hans Gillhaus debut at East End Park was also a pretty special performance. Link to comment
Dazzler
Hartley vs Hamilton on the first game of last season. Link to comment
GK55
Theo Snelders - Cup Final v Rangers (game in which Paul Mason scored the winner) Some unbelievable saves in that game - kept us in it - my favourite is from a Mo Johnston header which he tips over the bar with a great reaction save. Snelders was an absolute steal at Link to comment
Stoney
I stopped reading when someone mentioned jamie langfield............................. Link to comment
russellh
Mixu Paatelainen against Airdrie at home, scored 4 that day iirc. Also from the same game i have recollection of Brian Irvine scoring a screamer and the ball got stuck in the inside loop of the goals (back before the continental nets were common place). OneBeboMaguire
Richie Byrne, Copenhagen. Link to comment
StandFree1982
I stopped reading when someone mentioned jamie langfield............................. How can you argue against it? This is a thread about stand out performances, one of games...he was immense that day, in fact he was immense in both Dnipro games. Or it might just be another fishing trip... Link to comment

StandFree1982
typical Stoney! He probably thought we were sh*te in Gothenburg and Sir Fergie was a terrible manager. Link to comment
ollie1903
Willie Miller v Celtic 27/04/85 4 minutes in, I'll never forget this goal, and celebration, for as long as I live. Highlights don't do it justice but Miller was a f**king behemoth that day. Link to comment

I stopped reading when someone mentioned jamie langfield............................. I thought i made myself perfectly clear. I seen jamie langfailds name and stopped reading the thread, its a waste of time. Darren Mackie was the only stand out in that game, the rest was just blind luck. Link to comment

Solid but fair too. Link to comment

K-9
Think Langfield did well in Dnipro as did the whole team but thought the real hero that night was Zander Diamond who won everything. Link to comment
minijc
Touzani in the away game against Atleti, superb performance by a really good player that never got a chance. Link to comment
Jonty
Eion Jess against der hun in the LC Semi Final, or at Ibrox when he scored the screamer, or against Torino over there. Link to comment
ollie1903
The single stand-out performance by an AFC player of all time was Hewitt in the SC Final v Hearts in 1986.Missed the first goal getting in to the ground, but probably my most enjoyable trip to the old Hampden. Most subsequent visits spent in a drink/drug fuelled haze. Hewitt was different class. Old Walter Kidd. f**king twat eh Link to comment
Jack_Glass
Dean Windass against Morton in the Cup, scores 4 goals and we win 6-4...what a night. Link to comment
StandFree1982
The fans v Dunfermline during the relegation play off. We were f**king fantastic that day and we dragged the team through that game! Link to comment

Scarface
Nigel Pepper versus Dundee United, April 1999 (sent off after less than a minute after coming on as a sub).Jim Leighton versus Rangers, May 2000 (out cold and off injured with a fractured jaw after less than 2 minutes).Jackie McNamara versus QotS, April 2008 (completely anonymous first half, off up the tunnel early in the second half never to be seen again).Zander Diamond versus Celtic, November 2010 (totally owned for the entire duration of the match in which we lost by a record scoreline). Everyone on the panel said they'd play the recentlybroken through McManus and Caldwell (I think) as the first choice centre pairing. I laughed my ass off. Wasn't too long before it actually happened, unfortunately. Link to comment
Dandyesque
Eoin Jess introducing himself to the world with 4 goals in a 4-0 win over Dunfermline. What was he - 18? Link to comment
The Oxford Don
Aye, Jess scoring four against Dunfermline - THE best performance by a Dons player I've ever witnessed. Think he was a wee bit older than 18 at the time though. Link to comment
