Will always be Willie Miller for me. Obviously not the most technically gifted footballer ever, but a colossal, immovable rock at the heart of everything. Now tainted, but the skipper of the greatest side in AFC history at a time I was fortunate enough to grow up in.

Peter Weir was a joy to witness also

I have to say Eric Black was my favourite player, by miles, and I was broken for several weeks when he left for Metz.

That was the clear signal for me of the beginning of the end for that team, and so it proved.

He was a collossus, a magnificent footballer, and I always hoped he would come back to the Dons one day, as a player.

I had no interest in defending so Miller and McLeish, solid as they were, did not have the star quality of Black.
