Jones
I'm thinking of spending some hard earned on a decent watch. Anyone recommend any good ones? I'm not sure really how much I want to spend yet but 4 figs is fine. I've been having a look online and quite like Patek Philippe but they seem to be a bit too pricey. Any thoughts on what to look for? Cheers! Link to comment

brownie
Depends on how much you have to spend. Patek will be more likely 5 figures. For 1k to 10k you have a huge variety available, Rolex to JLC via IWC. Link to comment

You are not going to get a 50k watch for 5k. However the likes of Hublot may fot the bill http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/hublot_watches.htmk Link to comment

Jones
Yeh I should probably use the search function before posting. Can the two threads be merged or something? Link to comment
robbo
all good, the search function is a fickle beast. its more for show than actual results. i got lucky with it. sorry, didnt mean to make it sound like "look in here dumbass", was just saying theres a similar thread, maybe you can use it for inspiration. can easy merge them if you want but im happy to leave them separate since that one is asking what do you own whereas your asking for advice. I think my favourite watch embarrasses her. It's a 9.99 job from the Royal mile.. all Scottish flags on the face and wristband Look at the quality on it.. . Link to comment
