At The Border Guy
One of the chief cretins has resigned. Check out the middle-finger-shaped FIFA statement though: "As a consequence of Mr Warner's self-determined resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13845203.stm?utm_source=twitterfeeed&utm_medium=twitter Link to comment
tup
Hopefully that puts a lid on it then, he seemed to be the only real bad apple in the cart, now that he's fallen on his sword it's as you were. Link to comment
Bluto10
why did he resign tup, if england were just bleating cause they are bad losers? Link to comment
tup
why did he resign tup, if england were just bleating cause they are bad losers? Because he was publicly displayed as corrupt, therefore his position is untenable, and rightly so. England were claiming the whole of FIFA was corrupt, which is incorrect, they are as open to persuasion as any other voting committee the world over so there's nothing remarkable about them in that respect. Panorama are full of sh*t, always working to an agenda. Your own manager has not spoken to the BBC for seven or eight years because of their entrapment style approach to investigative journalism. They therefore reek of hypocrisy. Link to comment
Jack_Glass
Resigning suddenly clears him of everything? Hardly a punishment considering the cash he's made from it. Think of all the countries that have lost cash from FIFA's corruption. They should have made an example of him, along with that other chap who sells tickets on the black market for his own gain. It's no surprise really, there's corruption in every sport. The rich get richer; look at the whole Champions League set-up, completely designed for big teams only. Long gone are the days of giant killers lifting the European Cup. Link to comment
