How To Buy A Football Club

Recommended Posts

Interesting programme on Channel 4 tonight.

Whilst I don't think it shows anyone doing anything illegal, it shows what a sad state football has become. English football in particular.

Football is just a joke now.

Tiered and structured specifically to benefit a couple of dozen massive clubs, with the smaller clubs starved of anything like significant investment.

You end up with one player at a team like Barca earning more money in a week than some of our players will in their entire career at Aberdeen.

It's a closed shop, and if you EVER want to see 'your' team win anything on the European stage then you better just support a Man United or Real Madrid, because the shitty provincial sides will be seeing nothing. So kids, being the brainless, disloyal little f**kers that they are, will gravitate towards clubs they have absolutely NO affiliation with.... supporting clubs from cities hundreds of miles, sending their pocket money of Man United merchandise, meaning even MORE income for the mega-clubs and LESS income for the team that plays less than a mile away.

Football is f**ked, plain and simple. What we're seeing are the death throes of the game we followed as kids.

And the people who run the game are not at all interested in a level playing field.
