urbanprotection
Morning all - Taking my 2 kids (boys aged 8 and 10) to London for the first week of August. Anyone got some kid friendly gems they'd like to share? What's Thorpe Park like? Was thinking about Alton Towers on way back up but went last year and wondered how TP compared. Link to comment
essexdon
thorpe park, chessington world of adventure, legoland all within easy reach of central london. london dungeon, tooley street beside london bridge station is good but get there early as q builds quick.the london eye (expensive but good)depending how gory you want it there is a weekend tour of the old bailey, get them banged up in the cells. the Guildhall, (gresham Street EC2) has a tour and the guide will encourage the kids to put there hands into holes/cracks in the walls. the look of horror when they realise they are touching bones of the departed from 3-700years ago is priceless though will give some nightmares if its chucking it down with rain as it has been the past 7 days the natural history museum and science museum take some beating.hamleys toy store on regent street is well worth a trip as well. toys areleft out so kids can have a go, the trocadero, piccadilly circus (think arcade games) hope this helps Link to comment

I just got back from london last week with the wife. We don't have any kids like, but the london eye was really good and seemed quite child friendly - it will be an experience for you as well (the view is gorgeous). They also do boat rides along the thames and such, and there's a little london dungeon-esque type horror thing right next to it which was quite smart. Even just a stroll along the thames bank is a pleasant experience, theres always folk doing magic tricks and such (there was a snake charmer when we were threre). Alton towers is also good, aged 8 and 10 are old enough that they can fully get the full benefit oot it. Link to comment
dervish
http://www.ripleyslondon.com/tickets.php?gclid=CIjz5bLhmqoCFUwc4QodlE9Jyw not cheap at all but has some pretty cool stuff. The mirror maze is quite the mind f**k (as are quite a lot of the exhibits). Link to comment
dervish
Oh aye and for food in china town go to Toyko Dinner very cheap but good. (not a kids thing really but still cool to visit the area and that place is great, could try some of the more "adventurous" places there too for the crack ) Link to comment
