anyone know what the connection is between daimlers and jags?

(isnt the merc parent company or original co. called daimler benz?

 

if i owned a car i'd probably go for a jag.

Its a bit complicated, The Daimler Motor Company was a car manufacturer in england completely unrelated to Daimler AG (the german boys) i think. Daimler was a particular model made by Jaguar Motors for a while (they obtained a licence from the daimler company to use the brand name).

I da think they were the sports arm exactly, but the name was used for the top of the line models. The XJR you were talkin about, i remeber the top of the line model for that was called the Daimler Super 8 - looked almost identical to the model below it though - waste of money IMO.
