Big Man
there's f**k all else for the kids to do. Well, that's not strictly true is it... In all seriousness it can't of been easy for him pulling off those feats of computing genius with a 56.6K dial-up connection. My uncle stays on shetland and his internet is barbaric... Admin Bebo Posted July 31, 2011 Admin Share Posted July 31, 2011 Apparently this isn't the guy, but rather framed by the real Toparia, who is actually in Sweden. The 19-year-old Scotsman fingered Wednesday as a central figure of the LulzSec hacking crew is a fall guy who was framed to take the heat off the real culprit, according to unconfirmed claims from a rival group. The real LulzSec figure known as Topiary is a 23-year-old Swede, who stole the handle from a low-level member after he ran afoul of its parent group Anonymous. The mistaken identity was part of an elaborate ruse to confuse authorities about Topiary's true identity, the speculation claims. read more here if you want to be bored about the details. Big Man
Looks like an affa loon - for a shetlander... The BBC are now saying police found 750,000 passwords and usernames in his cache. Cannot emphasise how important it is to empty your cache on a regular basis. Link to comment

Admin Bebo Posted August 1, 2011 Admin Share Posted August 1, 2011 Apparently this is Topiary???? http://pastebin.com/Bk1C6BXm Looks like a bit of deception and deflection. If you read the link i provided it has chatlogs of the (allegedly) real topiary discussing this exact thing. Although you can't be sure. I don't care that much about it apart from it all being mildly amusing. Link to comment
muttondressedaslamb
I'm just following this on Twitter:Anonymous IRC, AntiSocialAnon and Your Anon News are saying it is him. But then they would I suppose if it was a cover up Anyway this tweet made me laugh: #Topiary "grimaced when prosecutor Chodha mispronounced the name LulzSec as 'Luke Sec.'" #FreeTopiary Link to comment

Shetland has one of the oldest ISPs in Zetnet, it was quite good back in the day of demon internet etc 15 odd years ago. No idea of the state of affairs nowadays it's probably still at 56k like you say. Link to comment
muttondressedaslamb
I stayed in Shetland last week for a few days, just a stones through from 'Topiary' it seems and my internet was brilliant. Anyway doesn't the Council get money chucked at them from BP? In which case the Council should have invested in providing such a sh*t hot service. Link to comment
