The Money Debate

Recommended Posts

Keep seeing it, hearing it, reading. Killie, Motherwell are able to construct teams on a lot less than we have, there must be something deeper at play. Personally I think until we rid ourselves of clowns like Foster, Mackie and Considine ( who are probably on decent wages) we are bound to producing dross. It cant all be about money

Watched the Killie game yesterday and they seem to have a crackin wee squad of players and quite comfortable pumped Hibs.

For teams like Motherwell / Killie to unearth decent teams they obviously dont f**k around when it comes to signing a player where it seems to take our 'backroom negotiators' forever to get deals settled.

Frustrating as f**k. We will be forced to wait it out to see what 19 year old 'Premiership star' we can land. f**kin sh*te.

Said it on another thread, we're too busy patching up and we're not building a team for the future. We've been doing it for years, shitty 1 and 2 year contracts, no stability in the team, no forward planing and we havent had a balanced team since JC's 2nd or 3rd year.

While other clubs seem to manage to have 22 players including their kids, 2 for each position we seem to always be over covered in 1 area leaving us short in many others. Under JC we were extremely short up front but had numbers for midfield. Under McGhee we had 7 strikers at one point and now under Brown we have 7 players for 2 central midfield slots.

So while I agree the 3 clowns you mention will be eating up a fair chunk of the budget it isnt those clowns that buy the players, negotiate the contracts or pick the tactics for the next game.
