Bamber
Definate game of two halves First of all caley SERIOUSLY lacked anyone in the back line capable of organising with Tokely out - To be fair his abscence probably won us the game, How HOGG was ever captain of a team is beyond me Dominated the midfield in the fiorst half and it showed, we also had loads of support from foster and jack both getting forward. Thought for this season anyway best game for Osbourne, Magennis and Milsom. Osbourne especially have often wondered if he was any good or not - today definatly was. Second half though we surrendered the middle and foster and jack stopped supporting Milsom also drifted away from the game Was quite surprsied to see on both sides the number of players needing to stretch calves about the 70 min point, worst affected was malwene who foran could beat in a race if he walked by this time, no surprise to see him hooked pity we waitied till after the goal Other pity was as soon as they scored the only two who recognised we should waste time and keep the ball was foster and gonzalez rest were far to eager to get the ball forward for half chances to allow them to welly it back up the park Cant say it was the most exciting game - eve before they scored the half seemed to have gone on forever, the applause for the first goal went on for ages bourne more from relief than expectation as we had already missed 3 good chances. Caley though 2nd half could have buried us with the chances we allowed them gonzales showed he is a good keeper but the decision to rush 10 yards out of his box almost cost us big time Ah well onwards and upwards Oh interesting point in the 2nd half, ref talking to osbourne and two walk away after a quick slap of hands with each other. If was after osbourne had chased down a (nother) ball and went in hard but fair think ref was congratualting him on a good tackle and not diving in rashly - I actually thought the ref had an excellent game today, let the game go and was hardly noticed. Would like to see the penalty claim but overall another "best of the season so far" in the refereeing performance from crawford allen i thought Link to comment
Tommy
Some decent football got played today, particularly in the first half and i'm delighted we got 3 points.Pissed off with this sitting back nonsense which simply invited Caley to attack us and everyone backdefending dead balls is pathetic. We ran out of steam with 20 minutes to go and the level of fitness of some players is questionable.Credit though, we got the vital win and that will hopefully give them a confidence boost. What about when he cut off Caley's goal in the first half for a freekick after they had played on? Everyone around me thought that was a fair enough Caley goal at the time. Link to comment
ollie1903
For 70 minutes Osbourne and Arnason were tremendous. Credit to Foster, thought he had a great game. Link to comment
vanderark14
Very impressed by Osbourne and the ice man in midfield. Osbourne fought for every single ball and the ice man is just that on the balll - cool as f**k. thought foster defended poorly in the first half but got forward well, his defending improved slightly in the 2nd. we deserved the win but only just after a poor second half, first half we were very good though. I couldn't believe what I was seeing in the 1st, crisp passing, fighting for every second ball and plenty movement all over the park. 3 points - job done. Link to comment
The Boofon
Come on lads where's the moaning? Sounds like a decent enough performance. Anyone have an opinion on whether Mackie not on and Magennis playing made any difference or is it just a coincidence? What were the goals like? Big test on Tuesday night coming up though. Hopefully another signing or two in before the Orcs on Sunday as well. Link to comment

Magennis impressed me apart from the time he pooped his pants when he had the chance in front of goal. he held the ball up well, I thought the refs were harsh on him too when he used his strength. Would have for Mackie any day of the week if big josh can play that way each week. First goal was a great through ball to Magennis and a good cross for him to let Milsom tap it in. Anyone know who made the pass to Magennis in the first place???? "nd goal was a mistake by the caley defender that left Vernon one on one. Vernon's finish was very good - right in to the bottom corner away from the keeper Link to comment

Magennis was putting himself about and rumbling them up, the caley defence couldnt cope with him at times. When he came off in the second half i thought that was a bit of a turning point as we had nothing to hit up front... Thought vernon was poor again (altho he took his goal well) and megginson just a little bit lightweight perhaps. Definately would keep magennis in the team for next week tho Link to comment

Everyone around me thought that was a fair enough Caley goal at the time. Ref had blown for the foul a long time before - and we stopped playing. the fact they scored could be as much to do with that fact as anything Was a question further on about did mackie out magennis up front make a difference? I thought what made more of a difference was the fact we were trying to get the ball in the box early tbh and foster and jack were pushing forward. There defnce was shambolic and unorgansised in the first half and badly missed tokely to add some nastiness to it. That said as i put in the orignial post thought it was magennis's best game this season and argueably the best game he has played when in the starting line-up since joining the club Link to comment
Coopy100
Maggenis played well. Jack and foster were pretty average and a better team could have punished us. Foster made a right c**t of a couple of easy passes and both he and jack were caught in possesion a few times. Mawene was poor i felt. A few times he was out of position and again i feel better teams will rip him a new arsehole if he plays like that all the time. His heading was piss as well. Overall i think the midfield did well but the lack of proper wingers is a conceen as is the lack of lb and rb. Strke force was the highlight of the game wirh vernon and magenis linking up well. Magenis could be done with some shooting practice though as most of his shots were trundlers. Gonzales both looked good and pish poor at points but that could be down to him having no confidence in mawene in front of him. Good result but still think better teams than ict would have got a draw at least out of it. Link to comment
Sandafc
Thought we were as good in the first half as we were as bad in the second half. Osbourne had a great game i thought. Still a win and we are off and running with a few goals. Link to comment
RAZOR
First half was good. Osbourne and Arnason look good additions. Mawene looks like Ifil number 2. For every good pass Milsom makes there is a slack knobend pass closely followed. Maggennis looks better than Mackie, start him. Jack- said it before. Not good enough. Rory in for Mawene and Clark in for Jack next week. MOTM = Foran. Link to comment

Brown said so himself that he should have been taken off earlier. Jack is good enough but clearly didnt have his best game today and is a midfielder not a right back. Link to comment
Granite City Reds
Mawene looks like Ifil number 2. Don't really get that statement. Ifil was very quick and lacked technical ability while Mawene can read a game and pass a ball but he is really slow. Link to comment
Granite City Reds
I thought we was fantastic first half, created quite a few chances and should have been more than 2-0 up although we was lucky that the ref didn't play advantage when Inverness player was through on goal - that was one of the worst decisions i've seen in a while and if it happened to us we would have been going mental. I don't know what happened in 2nd half but they dominated and miss chance after chance. Mawene was having a nightmare and i hope he is injured because i was surprised Brown left him on for so long. What concerned me the most was our fitness to some players, a few of our players was breathing out of their arses really looked unfit. Clark was on the park for about 10 minutes and he was struggling!!! I hope the 2nd half we played like that due to pressure of not winning but lets take the positives and the first half was fantastic for us lets hope we play like that quite a bit this season. Now on to Rangers and with Sally in charge, we have a great chance of going down there and getting a result. Stand Free Link to comment

Ifil was very quick and lacked technical ability while Mawene can read a game and pass a ball but he is really slow.Mawene, the f**k up for their goal apart, is an infinitely better footballer than Jerel "Harvey Price" Ifil. For people to say Foster defended poorly, his full length lunging block tackle when Hayes (?) shot at goal near midway through the second half probably one of the best goal saving tackles you will see this season. And some again harsh on Ryan Jack. Once I recall he misjudged the bounce of the ball in the second half. One mistake. I stand by it, he us one of, if not the, best footballers at this club. har-don
Megginson went down like a sack of tatties in the second half. Was right in front of it and how he didnt get a booking for diving is beyond me. Delighted with the win though. STAND FREE Link to comment
K-9
Game of 2 halves never been more apt. Played pretty well in first half against a shocking looking ICT (reserve) side and were in full control of the game and nobody would have complained had it been 4-0 at break (although got break just before half time with ref blowing and taking play back as ICT scored). Midfield in complete control. 2nd half we sat in and invited them forward and let them right into game, and we got let off after let off with Inverness blowing a host of chances as our defense fell apart and in end relief to grab the much needed win. Would agree with most of the stuff in this thread but K-9 sums it up best - first half played some good stuff and could've been more than just 2 up. Second half stopped playing and Caley came out and should've scored earlier than they did and on another day Caley could easily have snatched a point. Have to add to all the other points made - Megginson looked terrible when he came on and no where near ready to play at SPL level - another spell loaned out I would say. Link to comment
360
I thought it was a really strange game today. When we had possession we played some really nice stuff, particularly with Fyvie, Osbourne and Arnason. But, for all the nice stuff, we only created a few chances. ICT is a team full of cloggers like Foran and Hogg, but I thought it was astonishing how many chances they created in the second half. They had enough to score 4 or 5. A few more points. Maggennis did brialliantly for Milsom's goal, his contribution was particularly brilliant in a really well worked goal. Also, Arnason is cool as f**k. Edit to add, you can kind of see me and my dad in the RedImages on the AFC site. Link to comment
