The statue is located near Po Lin Monastery and symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion. It is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong, and is also a popular tourist attraction. Wonder if I'll get to see it before I die. Seeing Tian Tan online is enough probably and better for my carbon footprint. It's the idea that counts not the 'being there' in this case , unlike Dons fitba matches. Link to comment
