Restaurants In Aberdeen

It's amazing how so many Italian restaurants can get it wrong - especially the chain ones.

Have never really rated Rusticos, Ciao Napoli was great, Carmines on Union Terrace was an experience for lots of different, and good, reasons, La Lombardo has been shit for what feels like forever and Borsalino is good but expensive for what you get - special mention for their pizzas like, they are amazing. Know there are a few others including Poldinos and Amarone which are ok.

Cannot say anything about the likes of the chains in Union Square. Did goto Toni Macaroni's before Christmas which was actually decent.

Will have to give Da Vinci's a go so would be good to know what you think of it ?

The boy Wyatt still have that? He's a cock but his son is worse. Fat beaut goes to Pittodrie and is always oot in toon or in Dutch Mill (stalking quines I presume) so likely folk on here will ken him.

Went to Pizza Hut in Union Sqaure today, bairns choice - has me wrapped around her finger.  Gan to be awful when she's older.

Dreadful as expected. Tattie salad was the highlight.

Didn't want the Gazelles I was trying to convince her to get in JD but instead wanted a pair of these awful Fila things with thon awful soles.

Anyone ever been to Da Vinci's?

Perfect. I got a voucher for the place so going to use it.

Probably the only Italian I've not tried in Aberdeen so wondered what it would be like.

When Ciao Napoli died, the city has been lacking a proper decent Italian. Rusticos went downhill and vowed never to return.

Fingers crossed DaVinci's can provide the goods.

Cheers.

Da Vinci is decent like. Always enjoyed it when I've been in. The bro in Law was there on hogmanay and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was in Rustico's on the 29th for wedding anniversary, it wiz arite, nothing to write home about.

I was at some Indian place the other day in Union Square, seeing it empty is a travesty as it's bloody beautiful.

Fuck Nandos and get to the wee Indian place with happy at their job type people. Give them the custom. Not directed at you in particular might I add. Mostly Nandos and TGI cunts.

Might head to OKH for a couple later. Glad it's back.

The Rikshaw place?  Any good?

Yeah that's the one. It was superb. Fairly priced and the people couldn't have been any nicer, service with a smile.

It's why I did Mozza today. I feel shit for the quieter places in Union Square as they always turn out to be far better than your run of the mill nonsense that attracts idiots.

All chains though so I wouldn't feel too sympathetic ?

No I get that, but there are some chains who I would like to see last compared to others. Nandos can fuck right off.

Mozza was superb. I was trying to stay off the sauce for January but the cocktails lured me in. TBF I've not had a drink since 2021...

Only chain worth visiting was Las Iguanas. Shut now I believe. Travesty.
