hopeisimportant
I've just put a deposit down on a new car (private sale) and will be picking it up in a week or two. However, this means I now have to sell my current steed. Any advice on what will be the cheapest option to have them both insured until I manage to sell the current car? The new one will be kept on my parents drive 120 miles away until I have sold mine as I am in the city centre with on street permit parking. I looked into temporary insurance and even with just insuring my Dad on the new one this will cost me up to Link to comment

hopeisimportant
If you're not picking it up for two weeks then surely you'll be able to sell your car before you pick it up. Until you pay the balance the current owner of your car will be liable for insurance. Sell your car then phone up your insurance and get the new one on the policy instead. Dependent on the type you will pay or receive cash back. The current car is in the body shop next week to get a scratch and dent removed so I wasn't going to put it up for sale until that was done. Then I think I can delay picking up the new one for another week max. I can't see mine selling within a week but you never know! Link to comment
