Ouch indeed. Cant really tell a lot from highlights but from also listening to it yesterday on the radio it could have been a lot worse!!

 

Most of our efforts looked weak.

What the fucks Brown on about us not getting the breaks? We got loads of breaks. On another day that could have been three, four or five!!! Andy Considine = pish. More interested in getting it up the arse than actually trying to defend the ball! And some fucking captain Ricky "the hun" Foster is. Leading by example there with the customary individual mistake. A simple tap to his right and we have the draw (we appear to have gone for). I give up.

WTF was our keeper playing at for most of the game, going off the highlights, boy must've been on his countries powder. As for Foster, awful, he should have got up, he had the pace to catch that boy no bother and the keeper getting beat at his near post, should get langfield back in ASAP, that would never happen with him.

Even with Foster's fuck up, the Motherwell boy still had plenty to do with Jack goal side of him and in a wide area but no idea what Jack was doing letting the boy advance into the box for a shot at goal. It's just brain dead football.

Tbh i never even realised it was Jack who the guy had beat for the goal, but you're right it's terrible defending from him, Foster and Gonzalez for such a soft goal to lose.

Having been to the game tis interesting seeing the "highlights".

 

We were on the upper deck - all things considered there wasn't that bad a turnout.

 

Their chances were considerably better than ours and I hope Brown is getting himself fitter as Gonzo certainly didn't have a confidence inspiring game. An onform or better striker for us would have scored one or more of Vernons opportunities - they were all about placement and he didn't have any.

 

Agree Jacks coverage of the goal wasn't the best but where on earth were the centre of defence given Jack was on the right and the ball came in from the left. Too slow getting back - Arnasson had a good game but neither he nor Mawene are quick. The shot also got a wee deflection which didn't help. But for pity sake Ricky - row z situation not I'll wait till its slow enough to take control of and show my silky footie skills - oh, oops- who can I blame now?

Speaking from the highlights only,

 

Vernon's first half effort to be fair was a really good move, good link up from Fallon and possibly could have done better.

 

Humphrey should have slotted that away, Considine and Mawene both shown for pace there.

 

Clancy's header, simply woeful from a defending point of view and i thought the goalkeeper was meant to be demanding in those situations? looks fucking useless.

 

Gonzalez sucked into the play so easily when Lasley played in Murphy.

 

Vernon free-header absolutely shocking, just sums us up. Any other team in the SPL would have punished Motherwell there with a strong header right across the face of goal.

 

For the goal, Foster being a right dirty cunt, would be raging at any other team if they were to do that, Jack fails to even attack the ball, Gonzo beaten at the near post. A true shocker!

 

Must say as well, how well worked are Well's set pieces? Looked like they'd punish us at every one!!

Aye, I mentioned this before but opinion of some Motherwell fans I know is that Brown kept things going nicely but it wasn't really his team and the players he added to the squad weren't as good as those added by Gannon.

 

Gannon by all accounts had a fantastic eye for a player and good contacts. Hence when he came in to the club he brought a lot of really good wee players. Add those to the youngsters Well already had and the key experienced pros's like Craigen, Lasley and Hammil and its no surprise really that they are decent side.

What's Broon on about we need to start getting the breaks. The Motherwell boy had pretty much an open goal but blasted the bar, then they hit the post later on again. I'd say they were 2 breaks.

They never punished us at any. The goal came from open play.
