BrianFaePerth
Seems to be a lot of it about these days. Fitba players in their prime suddenly collapsing. Latest being Carl-Erik Torp fae Brann who collapsed on the pitch, was carried off and then went in to cardiac arrest in the changing room. An air ambulance then landed on the pitch and took him back to Bergen, which was luckily in a small window of jist poor weather as opposed tae horrendous weather, allowing the helicopter in. Whit happened in the auld days? Did fowk jist die on the pitch, or is this a bit of a new thing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOpRSDeeIpw Link to comment

OddJob
Marc Vivien Foe Absolutely tragic. So glad i never saw that game, was crying for a while after seeing the story on the news. Although it might not have made a difference in the end but i remember the Cameroon manager saying he was going to sub Foe earlier as he looked tired. Bloody shame Link to comment

tup
I reckon steroids are to blame, they enlarge the heart, meaning blood is pumped faster than the rest of the body can handle. Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
Turns oot Torp wis born wi a serious heart defect that went completely undetected for 27 years. As eh wid imagine is the case in Scotland, all top-flight players ower here need to have regular heart checks, and nothing wrong whatsoever showed up. Apparently on the day, he'd been a bit off-brand, but nobody thought anything much of it. He was jist lucky that when his heart decided tae gie up the ghost, there were 2 heart-starting machines at the ground, and a rare break in the horrendous weather that prevails here at this time of year that allowed the helicopter tae get him tae hospital back in Bergen. Had he been at home, oot shopping or whitever, he'd be broon bread. Kinda frightening in this day and age that these things jist happen, and no test ever picks them up. Link to comment
RUL
Indeed, any footage of the helicopter landing on the park, that would be a decent video. Link to comment

Dandyesque
Incorrect. As soon as time began folk were created not dead. Death only started a little bit after time began. Both wrong. Time went on and on for billions of years before folk started dying. Relatively speaking, folk were dying as soon as they were born. Link to comment
