Invitation From You Tube

Big Man

Recommended Posts

Just got an email from You tube, goes like this:

''Dear Big Man,

Your YouTube account might be eligible to earn revenue from the playbacks of your videos.

Making money from your video is easy. Here's how it works: First sign in to your YouTube account. Then, review and complete the steps outlined here:http://www.youtube.c...on?feature=ieqe.

If your account is enabled, we may place ads next to the videos that you submit for monetisation. You will earn a share of the revenue from the ads, as long as you meet the programme requirements.

Thanks and good luck!

The YouTube Team''

Has anyone else had this or signed up to it? Or heard anyone that has...

Particularly keen to here from Ke1t, as i ken he likes to make and post the odd video.

As a web designer this is of interest to me. I have a client who used to fly the helicopter for Greenpeace. He has a vid of himself recovering the thing from sticking the tail on the flight deck that has over 16 million views!

Surely a few quid to be made for such a popular video?

Wow - yeah he probably could have made a few bob from that if it had been monetised when he first put it up...

Just got an email saying my application for adsense had been accepted.

I clicked the link, they've asked if I wanted to earn revenue before but I ignored it.... strangely it now tells me I'm not eligible (sulky bastards) but it DID open this ancient video of mine...

Kelt min, I have now watched this about half a dozen times tonight, and each time I go back I am in tears. The stupid simplicity of your work is worthy of wider recognition. I have to say the Zander video did likewise a few months back. Genius sir.

I'm going to go ahead and assume you're pished then, fatshaft, mate ;)

I'm currently working on a little side project that promises to be mildly amusing... assuming I don't abandon it like most of the shit I start.

Does anyone actually sit through the ads on Youtube though? All this does is play an ad before your clip, which might cause grumpy bastards (me basically) to not bother. Or just hit the Skip Ad button which reduces your income. So you'd just lose views and still not earn any money....

Meh - turns out am speaking shite, and peopel do actually watch the ads. Bunch 'o' mugs!

Signed up with Adsense, but can't see any ads on my video and it doesn't show up in the Adsense site. This happen to anyone? Maybe take a few days, or I have just signed up and it didn't pass the eligibility test

Steady on there you crazy horse.

First you register for an adsense account associated with your youtube account (can take several days to clear).

Then you need to submit the video you want to make money from ''for monetisation'' to youtube. They'll check it and make sure there is no copyright infringement claims outstanding against any of the media used in your video - everything has to be 100% made and owned by you or usable through a creative commons license.

Then you can start making the big bucks...
