He couldn't. The sub would have to come on for someone else on the park. The player coming off getting sent off was still technically on the field of play at the time.

Technically correct decision. The refs don't make the rules, they just ensure they are adhered to.

I remember an incident when Jeffery De Visscher played for us. Came on with an undershirt or something. Had to rush off and change out of it, and if I remember rightly he took off his shirt half way back, in a rush, to get the undershirt away and into the game.

 

So....shouldn't he have been booked then?

I know, that seemed strange. At first i thought the opposition were away to tell the ref to get a grip but you're right it does look like they're wanting the guy sent off.

I don't see the problem with wearing a different colour underneath. It's nae like the players are wearing the bloody grey Man Utd strip from '96 is it?
